I'd be asking Pa Marmo for evidence on President Obama being a muslim. Then again religious fanatics confuse faith, conspiracy theories with science - just like ISIS minus the killing (so far at least)
I always thought Obama was responsible for JFK but there you go. |

Conspiracy theories
FFS PM, that sort of stuff belongs to people who are cooking' on another planet. That type of thinking belongs to those on drugs, are having some crazy powder, having a lend or are hangin' round where the Greyhound bus don't stop anymore.
You can't be serious - to use an extremist you- tube clip as your defence of a paranoid theory designed to (dare I say) blacken the name of Obama. I expect that from extreme rightwing nut bags from the US not reasonable people from Australia.
Have you been talking to that Cory Bernadi again or Bernie Finn?
I suppose his medicare arrangements to help there poor make him a socialist.

Hilarious stuff, PM. Thanks for the laugh!
Personally, I'd be perfectly happy with Obama (or any American president) being a moderate Muslim. Better that than a Bible-thumping Christian like George W. Bush. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

So again I'll ask, what did he mean, when he said, "my Muslim faith"?
Obama Islam quotes:
We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world including in my own country.
As a student of history, I also know civilizations debt to Islam.
Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.
Islam has always been part of America
we will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities
These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islams role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.
America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.
I made clear that America is not and never will be at war with Islam.
Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism it is an important part of promoting peace.
So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed
In ancient times and in our times, Muslim communities have been at the forefront of innovation and education.
throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.
Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality
See if you can find him quoting christianity in a positive light, it just doesn't happen. You know, if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it just might be a duck. _________________ Genesis 1:1 |

Obama says
Muslims, Hindus, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, and their own path to grace is one that we have to revere and respect as much as our own
Jesus Christ said, " I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the farther, but by me.
He's certainly no christian, and never ever was. _________________ Genesis 1:1 |

I've just pushed the blue button on that attack. Why the hell is such a nasty personal attack warranted here? Who the hell do you think you are? Where has he attacked you? He just answered the question. You may not agree, but doesn't not warrant such a response. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Various smear attempts (re Obama)
[edit]Islam
Many people have tried to smear Obama by claiming he is a Muslim (which, as Colin Powell rightly pointed out, shouldn't be a smear, but, alas, it is in practice), since his father (who was African) was before he became an agnostic, or even an atheist.[48] However, Obama is a staunch Christian and often injects Jesus and God into his speeches. The myth of Obama's connections with Islam originated during his original campaign for the United States Senate. Ironically, there was a Muslim member of Congress elected only two years later: Congressman Keith Ellison. The Religious Right happened to target the wrong man.

TP, he didn't answer the question at all. It's nasty smearing illogical rubbish against a black president - part of the extreme right wing religious nutters manual from the USA. He didn't go anywhere near the answer. It's also part of your friends continual anti muslim nonsense. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman

^ WPT might have been a little strong with his comments, but a general exhortation to PM to exercise his critical faculty more as a democratic citizen is probably in order. All concrete evidence (ie of the kind that would get you a pass in history at year 10) regarding Obama's religious affiliations have him working (and worshipping) in the Trinity United Church of Christ with Pastor Jeremiah Wright on the south side of Chicago from 1987 until he left Chicago.
His interviews on the subject of religion show him as a man with a properly inclusive concern for the good that religious faith - of different denominations - can bring, as well as a deep disdain for zealotry and bigotry. In some parts of the US, that brings his very Christianity into question, apparently. To those of us in the rational world, it makes him seem pretty much in the mould of mainstream Christianity. The internet has much to answer for. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |
