Post subject: Stynes statue before Jock? | |
|
I'm not about to debate if Stynes deserves a statue or not, but when is Jock McHale going to be recognised for his legendary contribution to the game?
Is this another "deal" Eddie has made that he can call on down the track to further the Collingwood cause if not how can Jock McHale not be recognised before Stynes. |

Absolutely 1061. Dying makes for a great career move. Ripper bloke and handy footballer, but don't ever try to convince me he's a legend ahead of Jock McHale or Bob Rose. _________________ Explain it to me like I'm a four year old. Ted Whitten is an AFL legend, and Bob Rose isn't? |

Jocks got a medal named after him. That's probably enough. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

I don't think Eddie can be blamed for this one!
And I don't think anyone could deny that Jim deserves his statue. Apart from all he did for kids whilst he was fighting such an evil desease over and over, he should be remembered for his humility and good sportsmanship. What happened in the prelim could have sunk a lot of people. Read his book. It's an amazing journey. He was an amazing human being, even to the last breath still thinking of others. That statue stands for more than a good footy player, it stands for a bloody good bloke.
Sure Jock deserves one, how about the club lobby for it a bit harder? _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Does Barassi have a statue?
Jock is and was a big name at Collingwood, not the biggest in the AFL. Personally DILLIGAF who they make into bronze pigeon toilets. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Where's the Jock McHale statue outside the Westpac Centre?
After all the MCG really is (historically) Melbourne's home ground. It certainly gives us no home ground advantage.
I like the Jimmy Stynes statue.
You know we only have ourselves to blame for being shafted by the AFL. We could have built our own EMPIRE at Victoria Park. Built a real home stadium to seat 60,000 at Victoria Park like Arsenal did with Emirates Stadium. Then we could have put up as many statues as we liked. And then we really would have been entitled to the name Collingwood. What are we now, Richmond South?
Geez I envy Geelong. The only Victorian club that kept their home ground. It gives them a huge advantage. _________________ Rain or hail, I wag my tail |
