I was always a fan, never did get the hate thrown at him on the forums, spewing he can't go round again as he'd make us better next year, anywho thanks for everything Nick, you're a champ. _________________ Defender...........

Thanks Maxy!
Gave his all for the jumper - if everyone Magpies could play with his passion, we'd be unstoppable.
Take a bow, Premiership Captain!!!! |

For someone who was overlooked in the draft and then rejected by a couple of clubs he then trialled with....
He ends up being given a rookie chance by our club and plays 200 games, is named All Australian and he not just plays in, but he ends up captaining our club to a premiership.
It's the stuff of legends and that's exactly what Nick Maxwell is......a legend. |

i'm using the word Champion to describe Maxy and think he's earned it.
well done on a great career and thanks for the memories (especially the flag and your great captaincy).
Wow, it might shock you to learn that there are now only 8 players left on our list who were on our list in 2008 (Cloke, Brown, Reid, Macaffer, Goldsack, Toovs, Lumumba, and Pendles). Things move bloody fast! _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Thanks Maxy, always enjoyed watching you run our backline, your never say die attitude, hardness around the contest and that tackle on that "cat" (can't remember his name) sais it all! If you decide to stay in the footy industry hope the club employs you. |

Thanks for everything Maxy. Sad way to go out but loved your contribution throughout. We won a premiership with your captaincy. You have been a wonderful leader & a fine ambassador for our club.
Well done son. Side by side. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Not his biggest fan as a player but the way he managed to reverse his two year long form slump this season and the fact he basically sacrificed any chance of getting a send off game or continuing on next year by playing out the game clearly injured on Sunday speaks volumes of him as a great Collingwood person and a quality bloke.
A much loved figure around the Club according to a youngster on our list and played a Massive part in our Flag.
Hopefully he sticks around and teaches Pendles how to become a more inspirational leader of men.
Hold your head high Champ and all the best in future endeavours. |

It's amazing to think about isn't it. A real story of someone triumphing against the odds. There were so many that said he couldn't get there (and even more that told him he shouldn't be there once he was) but what he achieved was absolutely brilliant.
A fantastic servant of the club and one of the toughest bastards I've seen run around on the field in my short life time. Thanks for everything Maxy, you're a bloody legend. |
