I believe at the end of the season we are going to see a major shake up to our list.
There needs to be on several fronts for us to be a flag chance in coming years.
IMO I've listed below how I think it will happen.
Gone
Hudson
Lynch
Clarke
Armstrong
On shakey ground
Ball
Blair
Brown (only due to his ongoing shoulder issues)
Herriter
Young
Jury still out on (club champs whos bodies finally succumbing to years of great service)
Swan
Maxy
Martin will automatically go onto senior list along with Moore.
IMO we have to many 185ish players and need to add some strength, height and pace.
Freeman is a mid fielder with the speed but at 184cm is small but he won the repeated sprints and finished 3rd in 20m sprint at the draft camp. Can see him being used inside and outside next season.
With free agency being done and dusted with other than Frawley nothing of value left we will need to be strong at the trade table.
Can we get anything for Blair or Herriter ?
Both have some value to trade but on this seasons performances it isn't a huge amount.
We need to build a forward line basically from scratch. Reid will play forward with Cloke & Elliott but we need to find a true small forward like a ballantyne or betts type who can kick goals. Scharenberg can play forward and at 191cm with speed might be a good rotation through the mid field and forward line.
We know our mids can kick goals but we can't rely on them to kick a winning score each week.
Our defense has been over run due to playing to many youngsters but if we can get Brown right his big body along with Frost. Langdon, Williams we have the basics in place. Another key back would be great not sure how many will be available in the draft.
Keefe didn't make my shakey list but I am still struggling to see if he fits into our best 22. At times he looks very good then at others he looks nervous and panics losing his opponent.
We need to trade or draft players who can kick effectively. We have to many player who waste the ball when we get it.
Anyways just my opinion happy to here other opinions |

O'brien and Toovey may have some currency to help land a "big fish". |

The small forward has to be Saad, we need to really make a play for this guy, can play when fit.
The worst thing that can happen is that a team like Hawthorn, Sydney or Fremantle pick him up with the depth they already have.
He'll come cheap and at only 24 a bargin. |

I still think Jeffy Garlett would fit the bill as the small forward.
Lightning speed the likes of which we haven't had at the club in years and years and a natural goal kicker. He's still only 24-5 but is clearly hating playing under Malthouse and would welcome the change and boy oh boy to we need a player like him.
People say he's not hard enough at it or whatever but that's not his role (and frankly I could list more than a couple who weren't hard at it on Sunday) he's there to create and kick goals something which Jarryd Blair is completely incapable of. Teach him to lay 1-2 rundown from behind tackles a game and his implied pressure would probably be as beneficial as Blairs actual pressure (and we don't get anything other than that out of Blair). |

pick Saad up, Ive seen him from the boundary, and technically he kicks better than a lot of players Ive seen.
we need to recruit players who can accurately kick. kick short, kick long, snap, punt, even a bloody drop kick if they can get away with it.
accuracy. _________________ ___________________

Blair
toovs
maxy
harry
clarke
lynch
hudson
Ball
swan if his injuries keep impairing him
Young
play the young ones
none of the above would be trade bait
because no one would want them _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Seniors - Lynch (retire)
Maxwell (retire)
Clarke
Armstrong
Ramsay
Rookies - Yagmoor
Gault
Mooney
Hudson (retire)
Ball may choose to hang them up as well.
White would want to have a far superior 2015 to what he has had 2014. |

Dunno about Tooves, id keep him for chrissakes. Maxy one more season, maybe Ball. Lynch, those ones in magoos who clog the list already mentioned, delist, Huddo retires, finally.
Blair and Sidey used as trade bait for a big fish like Bruest would be great but cant see that happening. ! _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.
