Well to drown my sorrow tonight I had to laugh at the BT gaffe. Gee Channel 7 are giving him counselling. Oh for goodness sake! In the Army they used to sing a song called Kiss me goodnight Sergeant Major ! Oh for goodness sake. We all used to laugh and sing along. No harm meant. Using the P word was harmless. How could anyone take offence at that. Footy is footy and those sorts of sayings go on in every dressing room in Australia. We all laugh and I am sure so do the how's your fathers. Oh for goodness sake! Lets all have a laugh and stop taking life so seriously. Now I see Ian Thorpe wanted to tell us that he is a bit of that if you know what I mean. Good luck to him I say. He still was a great swimmer. Gee I would say I was a Carlton fan if they paid me what they paid him to say he was well you know what i mean. Its about time we brought back conscription in this country. That would sort of few of these things out. _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

Think of the Kids.
The young kids who play at their local club and just had reinforced if you're gay and want to live an open life without hiding anything, you can NEVER be an AFL player! |

More faux outrage and sensationalism. We don't care about who or what Thorpie gives or takes it from and BT, while being crass was hardly in line for the firing squad over that one. If he'd said something like sissy f**got then I'd say, sure rake him over the coals, but (I'm a dinosaur) is fairly benign, especially considering the context.
I wonder how many gay people are up in arms vs the internet warriors who don't give a stuff about the person, just the concept.
Also interested to know if there was anybody who didn't have Thorpe figured out already. I mean he designed a line of pearl jewellery, the man was as fruity as a quince and we all loved him. The media can GAGF. |
