hmm this is weird for me all my mates from Roos r thrilled with this and all my Pie mates r spewin well all i can say is i am a bit dumb (must be all the hair bleach) but can someone tell me where the fu@k Canberra is anyway? all i kno is its the porn Capital hmmn

oh yeh and one other thing ....one of the Roos was actually sayin they were upset with the decision to play on this ground because of the likeliness that the teams will have to play finals football the next week after playing on a ground not used for AFL matches regularly. If you think about it this makes sense and i hope no major injuries come out of this game right before finals time.

I wouldn't get too worried about the ol' Kangas screwing the Pies (again). In 5 years we will have a couple of flags and they won't exist

Well said ck_nd. I'm in adelaide the week before and i booked to come back to sydney on the saturday night, so i could watch the game at the scg on sunday, and then it gets moved - i could've stayed and extra day in adelaide (ok, ok, i know it's boring, but i'm also going to kangaroo island - to shoot the bloody things!). kangaroo scum won't exist within 5 years, we'll see who's laughing then. Carey is a tosser!

And now the AFL have agreed to underwrite the extra game at Manukah! According to the Australian, the AFL have agreed to underwrite the game with $250,000 in development money, originally allocated to stage the match in Sydney. But at what price? The article says that the Roos would need 15,000 to break-even at the SCG, but a similar crowd in Canberra would reap financial benefits. This is ridiculous - I reckon the SCG match would easily attract 25,000 fans. By playing in the ACT, about 10,000 fans may miss out on seeing the match.

Eddie, if you are reading this, please I urge you to continue to seek redress for this situation. If the Roos want to play in Canberra, why can't they do this from next year? Why do they have to cancel on the last game of this year when people may have already made plans?

if I remember correctly the last few games the magpies have played in Sydney have been sold out. They were sold out last season I remember that for sure...

the swans games when they aren't playing very well attract 20,000 at the scg so I can't see how the magpies wouldn't have the scg practically full if not sold out. So I can't see why the rooters would be worried about not getting more than 15,000 at the scg. Like if it was the roos v freo I could understand their concern... but v magpies... um, hullo we are have the greatest supporter base in the land, even in second class footy states.

Go Pies,

Carol

In my opinion, Manuka oval is one of the best surfaces to play AFL on in Australia....and that's speaking from experience. I suppose i'm one Pies fan that's happy with the switch as I'm a Canberran and I will definitely be there in Round 22 to cheer on the mighty Pies.

You guys are lucky...you get to see them almost every week live and I have to rely on TV coverage and highlights. I'm glad that I have a chance to see the mighty pies in my home town.

Yeah, very good point Mr Piedude.

It's just that it's round 22 which makes it a bit annoying.
