So hypothetical, Garlett looks in trouble as long as grumpy coaches the scum. Is Garlett the small aboriginal forward that runs amuck that we need?
Is he worth a poach? Would be fun to see him rip MM a new one if it happens! |

Was just going to ask this very same question.
I reckon he'd be a great fit for our forward line. A fast and skillful natural crumbing forward is what our forward line is screaming out for.
He kicked 40 odd last year with Malthouse/Carltons glacial like ball movement inside forward 50 and with our quicker movement and tall targets I reckon he'd compliment our forward line perfectly.
One things for sure Jeffy is on the outer with MM big time at the moment although if MM cast a more critical eye on some other players (Moneybags Thomas for one)then I don't think Garlett is the root cause of Carltons predicament. |

When it comes to small fwds micks views don't differ much from Bucks IMO, Medders was often overlooked and delisted because he lacked a defensive game.
You'll struggle to find one player Who did well at another club after Mick discarded them, Scotland did alright but that's about it. _________________ Defender...........

He's kicked 40's and high 30's playing in some fair to average scum sides. Name the last small, crumbing forward (Elliott isn't one of those either) to kick that many in a year for us?
He can play alright but not under Malthouse it seems. |

And Mick reckoned Daisy was worth 700K and Betts was expendable.
I don't trust the old blokes judgement that much anymore. |

The last time we had a really consistent, quality crumbing small forward who kicked goals week in and week out, we won a premiership. The year was 1990 and his name was Peter Daicos.
Other clubs have high-scoring crumbers often. Look around the comp today, or five years ago, or in five years time, and you'll see three or five or seven good crumbing forwards sprinkled around the other clubs - but we never have one.
Now you can say we recruit the wrong types.
Or you can say we don't train them the right way and bring the talent on the way we should.
Or you can say that our game plan hasn't revolved around a crumbing forward for many years and we discourage that role.
Or you can say that we won't select a crumbing forward in the seniors unless he can do all of the team things too, and we rate those unspectacular team things higher than we rate flashy individual goals.
But no matter what you say, you can't avoid the fact that we practically never have a decent crumbing forward. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

I thought about this before. I don't think he's a player you can trust when the going gets tough. Must be better options about. |

Garlett is too soft. Avoids contact at all costs. Sure he has pace to burn. But not sure that's enough these days. |

He's a very one-dimensional player and not one that I think could really make a difference.
I also think Bucks and Mick are as one with their thoughts on small forwards. Our recruiting and selecting has shown that. _________________ Well done boys! |

What part of the word crumbing don't you understand? Perhaps we can help. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |
