Enough of the Irish experiment. Aussie rookies come through better, prefer listing a battler of a father son than one of those guys. _________________ Get back on top. |

International rookies are separate to the senior and rookie list. So we don't lose a list position until he is good enough to be elevated to the senior list. So nothing lost there.
Only costs us coaching staff time and the players salary.
I don't mind the experiment cos it only costs money, which we have plenty of and not at the cost of another local player. There has been plenty of international successes. Pike, Kenelley, Hannelly, Touhey, & Stynes to name some. Many of those are A graders. So worth persisting with IMO. We just haven't had success ourselves. Maybe we need to approach it differently. |

One could argue that in his first 2 years, Clarke was at least a partial success. And there is yet time for Mooney to shine..... |

Stuff the Irish connection, pick up aussies kids. There's enough good footballers out there who don't get a chance. _________________ Premiers 2010 |

Why is this same ridiculous argument repeated over and over again. We can't pick up Aussie kids who have missed out with the spots that are available for international rookies. Unless you are talking about Aussie kids who don't come from an AFL background. _________________ Be Staunch, Be Proud, Be Collingwood |

Yep it seems some just don't understand the international rookie rules. |
