When he kicked his goal in the third quarter I realised it was the first time I'd noticed him get the ball. Think he had five possessions to that point.
It isn't good enough and one goal doesn't make up for it.

So many better options available now (Adams, Dwyer, Kennedy, Thomas) and heaven help him when we get a healthier list. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

As for Blair, I would have thought Kennedy would have already taken his spot but for some reason, Bucks doesn't agree.
Also think Goldy is lucky to still be playing in the ones. |
lol goldy was excellent last night. The guy never stops chasing and his defensive pressure inside 50 is why he's in the team |
lol, excellent. If all he has to hang his hat on is chasing, then you need to reconsider your definition of excellent.
Blair and Goldy give their all so I am not bagging them, I just think that others will provide more. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

I'd expect Keeffe to remain in the side. Roos have at least a couple of tall forwards. He's been ok since returning. Has kept his opponent very quiet despite not doing a lot himself.
Blair, for me, is the obvious out. Not sure Adams is the obvious in, I'd give him a week in the VFL and bring Kennedy into the team.
Goldsack and Blair are similar cases. Players who you can almost never fault for their endeavour, but just don't get enough of it. Goldsack played his best game for the season last night. His size, pace and ability to worry the opposition when he's on, means I have him ahead of Blair who has none of the above. _________________ Well done boys! |

Reid's not gunna be back for a couple of weeks. Keefe is safe & needs more game time in the ones & I reckon he is slowly getting better each week. Remeber he was out for quite a while.
Fasolo needs more game time too & is also getting slowly better.
As they keep on playing the backline will develop & the mids really helped last night as did some of the forwards in defence.
I want Thomas in - as he needs game time & I'm a big wrap for kennedy. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

No-one who saw the first half of the VFL today could contemplate bringing Kennedy in after this display. I am a big Kennedy fan but he's got to earn it. |

I was all for Kennedy getting a game with the seniors earlier I the season but the performance of the VFL team in the first half didn't merit anyone stepping up a grade. _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |

^^^ point taken
unless a like for like is is knocking the door down in the twos
why change the personnel for the sake of it. the three war horses that
provided contests at critical and at every chance they had were Ball, Goldy
and Blair. every team needs foot soldiers especially against opposition that
are older and clumsy like the tigers, north.
some consideration maybe needed in other circumstances. _________________ no second chances |

Really looking forward to this game, I reckon we can take another step forward with a bit of confidence and improve our game, a bit cleaner, and beat North comfortably.
Does Geelong's smashing of WC make our narrow loss look better? Probably, but it doesn't really matter. Things move so quickly in the modern game, if we can keep improving every week we'll be a good show by finals I reckon.

No other changes that I can see.
Please, please, please keep Witts and Josh Thomas in.
Ditto Langdon and Frost.
And keep playing Fasolo back. A guy in the back half that can hit a target with consistency.

Agreed on all points. Fasolo's defensive skills are weak and he leaks goals in a way that more experienced and more natural defenders such as Toovey, Langdon, Maxwell, Frost, Lumumba and even Young don't, but his disposal by foot largely makes up for that, and I think he can improve, little by little. Kickouts now, with the alternating combo of Fasolo and Young, are opportunities for us to attack and score. Compare with the dreadful record of botched kickouts and turnovers and relentless opposition pressure with the pill never crossing the centreline we had for the last few years with Shaw and Maxwell taking it.
Blair played well against Sydney, but was in our two or three worst this week. Adams in for Blair, no need for him to play twos, but if he does then Blair should be sub with JT playing a full game. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Really? We must have been watching a different game Tannin. He spoiled Revolting on at least two occasions when he didn't even have the best position in the contest. He's pushed back into contests. Yes he's made some massive cock-ups but to say he doesn't have defensive skills.... I just don't see it. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. He tackles, he pressures, he seems to be running to the right spots. It's when he's got the ball and he's under pressure when there is an issue - that by definition is not defending.
I'm very confident he'll be a lock in the defensive half for some time. Even better he will fix those decision making lapses but overall he's doing just fine. _________________ Side By Side Forever |

Given what Geelong did to West Coast last night our form line is very sound over the last 3 weeks. Very confident we can beat the Roos. Hopefully while our boys rest up Sydney bash the Roos up a bit this afternoon. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |
