Records and accomplishments these days mean nothing in footy(you can also throw in Cups too, every 2nd player has a cup/trophy named after him these days, but that's another story).
OK surpassing somebody's achievements a la Lockett for the goalkicking, a player breaking the club games record are one thing, but when they start dishing out facts like 200th game at the `G, it's just crap.

Sure Sheedy is one of the greatest coaches ever, but people just come up with these statistics because of who he is, to give him another accolade.

As for one of our own, Bucks playing his 200th in the B&W a few weeks back, to me, was as interesting as watching paint dry.

"Sure Sheedy is one of the greatest coaches ever" ??? how so? just 'cos he's at one club a long time? 4 flags(??) in 20+ years with some of the cattle he's had, some would say he's a under-achiever.

You can't deny he is a great coach steve. I hate to say it, but Essendon have been a very successfull side over the last 20-odd years. Wouldn't hurt to see them as cellar-dwellers either. But this isn't an Essendon bashing post.
