OK. Just worked it with PA and Hawks.

If both teams won and scored 150 to 100, the PA % would go up from 128.1 to 129.4 - a rise of 1.3% but Hawthorn's goes up from 96.5 to 99.2 which is a gain of 2.7%

Also keeping the opposite team to a lower score is better.
This can clearly be seen by this example.
If you win 2 points to 1 ( I know it would never happen )
Your percentage is 200%
Whereas if you win 100 to 99
Your percentage is 101%
Same margin but a huge difference in percentage.
Which is why a tight defence often leads to a good percentage.
