Ahhh .. thanks CoastPie. Pick 77 ... didn't we trade for that one late in the day?
And ... doesn't that mean that we now have all 40 senior slots filled, so no early rookie upgrade for Martin. Mind you, the day this club (or any club) manages to go six weeks into the season without someone out on the LTI list will be a good day, so Martin still should have every chance of competing for a spot in the 22, provided only that he's good enough to do it. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Using picks 6, 10 & 65 would have taken us to 38 senior list players with the Dwyer & Oxley upgrades. Taking Marsh at 77 means we've got 39 senior list players with 1 spot left. Only 1 rookie spot left thought which doesn't bode well for Gault given we've committed to taking Kelly. |

Isn't it 40 senior listed players and 6 rookies? Now that we have 39 senior listed players that give us 7 rookies. Out of those 7 rookies we already have Martin, Hudson, Yagmoor and Frost (of the 8 last year we have lost Dwyer and Oxley to the senior list and de-listed Hartley and Richmond) which means we should be taking three picks in next weeks Rookie Draft.
Does that sound correct? |

From what was being said last night, it sounded as if we would have one "live" pick in the rookie draft, since the other is committed to Kelly as F/S. Still doesn't bode well for Gault if Conlon is available. Time will tell. |

Each team can have a senior list of 38 to 40 players plus 4 to 6 rookie players, to a total of 44 players, and up to three development rookies (international, alternate talent or New South Wales scholarship players). I liked his highlight package a real lot.
Looks a good mark, a good kick and is a good height.
We have stocked up on these tall utility/flanker types this draft period with Kelly still to come as a rookie.
Hine seems to like this type of player as later draft selections. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

"Last year Langdon was a little one-dimensional, but his development has come in leaps and bounds as a high possession winning midfielder, who can also kick goals. Great game sense and vision, brilliant tank, runs all day, elite kick of the footy, one of the best marks in the TAC Cup, very elusive and has an un-canny sidestep. AFL ready body, very physical, good burst of speed, strong core, two-way runner always sticks tackles yet is rarely tackled himself and has played a good amount of senior football at VFL level." Quoted from supercoachpaige.

If Marsh and Langdon are half what people speculate then Hine should have a bloody statue out from of Westpac, if he hasn't earned that already! _________________ Get back on top. |
