Post subject: Memo- Gieschen to umpires | |
|
Following memo was found in the umpires change room tonight at the mcg.
Memo to-
All umpires- collingwood games.
Please review the rule book regarding interference in marking contests.
It is getting more and more difficult for the umpiring association to maintain credibility and especially for myself to keep a straight face when fielding questions over Chris Tarrant. When a player has only intent in inhibiting another players attempt to mark the ball- it is a free kick.
I know we have had our little laughs over the treatment Chris Tarrant has received this year, and he will feature prominently in our end of season blooper tape but do make an effort to see he isn't 'scragged' every time he tries to mark the football.
Thanks guys,
G.
Pity the umpires don't read Geoffs memos till after the game.

ha, i was watching with amusement last nite when a geelong player marked the ball in melbournes goal square and the SCUMPIRE proceeded to call play on and said 'the ball bounced, the ball bounced' about 3 times. meaning that it hit the ground first.
on viewing the replay of course it didnt hit the ground at all |

Where was this published mamamia? If it's true (given today's game) this is an even bigger scandal than I thought.
Please tell me you're making this up... you're having a joke aren't you? aaaaarrrgh! _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media. Then we could live in peace and tranquillity, and no one would know anything." - Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen |

Sorry weed as i was leaving the ground i was thinking' you'd almost believe there was a conspiracy against tazza!. I am joking but i really do wonder if the men in white- red -yellow-pink do have a blooper tape for their end of season get together!
Watching the replay i was amazed at the comentators applauding the scragging of tazza as 'good football'. |
