NP, you mention that the GC function is 2km from Metricon... so, for those of use who have no transport.... is there public transport from there to the ground? Particularly with the game starting at 4.40pm isn't it? _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

Hi PP,
Just looked up the Translink website and it indicates that the best option is to walk *No help*. According to Translink it is 1.36 Km. I will do some more research and look up public transport options. It is on the main road and previously during match days there has been extra services put on which I assume would stop along that road.
If not I will look at a shuttle bus option for those who are unable to walk the distance.
Will get back to you shortly

thanks NP, my mother and I are coming up for the week, and although she's pretty good for her age (will be almost 79 then), I think 2k (or 1.36) might be a bit much for her, so appreciate any info you can find out. _________________ Jacqui © Proud Pies 2003 and beyond |

Awesome news. I'll be there and I have one of Gav's old jumpers I'll take for him to sign. Thanks for posting _________________ - "Number 42? I see you've got Darren Millane in the Heaven footy side"

The Gold Coast game is on the radar. If we could get seats like last time Hatchy that would be great. But be warned. Beer is hideously expensive at Metricon. Getting home to Broadbeach is easy. Bus takes you to casino. Yoo Hoo _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately due to an arrangement with the AFL for Gold Coast, they are able to sell all tickets earlier than other venues. (Not sure why, but this is the explanation I received form the Gold Coast previously) Also I asked the Gold Coast to reserve a number of seats previously, which they agreed to do then reneged on the agreement so I am not able to guarantee tickets to the game and suggest you purchase them in advance. The function will be a Rippa though with Gavin Crosisca confirmed, parking available and only 1.3 Km from Metricon.
If it is anything like last time though, there were so many Collingwood supporters there it was like being at Vic Park in the old days - except warmer....
Hope you will all still jump on board.

For anyone who is looking to buy tickets here is the link for reserved seating:
http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/event/13004A4CAACA4CB2?artistid=1436352&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=711
Ticketmaster site is quite good as you can pick the actual seats you want, although there are limited bays available at the moment.
General admission is not on sale until 1 July, 9.00am Qld time. _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |

The whole ticketing fiasco makes me wonder, again, just what the AFL do for the average worker bee club followers. I am sure other clubs have interstate supporter groups and it would do the AFL to appoint one of the 2000 employees they have to give them a lifeline for these types of things. Qld Magpies try very hard and deserve our support. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |
