Rafter was set up by the media as the hero and Scud as the villian. When he loses he is no longer Melbourne's hero but that Greek. He almost single-handedly won us the Davis Cup which Pat didn't. Rafter got a lot of publicity for donating money to a children's hospital but they didn't mention that it was also part of a tax dodge. Pat has been a great role model but you get sick of the holier than thou aura compared with the media pouncing upon anything scud does which is not to their collective liking. Glad to see him defended for a change.

Culprit, Mark lives around the corner from me, i go and see him all the time when he is in melbourne. Nah, i wish, i do live around the corner from his mum and i have actually met him, i dont exactly 'know' him, however i could clearly see from those 10 minutes of talking to him that he is a nice guy.
Madeline, loved ur comments, and they are exactly right. Mark was made out to be the villain and because most aussies are sheep and listen to the media they would believe all the crap that was said about him.
Mark is just an example of what real sportman ship is. He was close to having to retire from tennis because of his knee but he fought back, and look where he is now.

Unreal, Channel nine can't show our game live a few weeks ago and because of the Poo they show StKilda & Essendon Live so they can get a viewing audience to watch the Poo. And what happens the games is 90% over when they cross to it. To funny.

Good comments Mad and I agree to some, but the Scuds handling of the Media with his father at that time left himself open to the criticism be it fair or unfair.

Lets get one thing straight, I do not like Tennis. It has nothing to do with the people playing it.

Chantel that is so nice you met him and you live just around the corner. Good to see you actually know someone after 10 minutes. I met Clement and Molloy for the first time the other night and after ten minutes of chatting to them and I would say they are nice guys. At the end of the day I will not say to someone I know them as I don't.

I do hope for you lovers of that game called Tennis that the Scud wins. I think Channel nine do too. lol
