Ok, Olympic park is going to be our new home ground. But doesn't Melbourne Storm train and play there? Will we actually own the venue, like we do @ Vic park. Will it just be collingwood people working there or will there be people from different sporting departments there also?

I don't know about Melbourne Storm, but I know we have it in conjunction with the Victorian (or is that the Australian - melbourne chapter?) Institute of Sport. That's why the facilities will be state of the art.

I don't think the Pies actually own Vic Park, (well the land anyway) I believe it's leased off the council. I think we signed something like a 20 year lease for Olympic Park also.

It isn't actually the ground the Storm play at it is the old Greyhound track next to the Glasshouse

It will NOT be our 'home ground'. Olympic Park, and the revamped Glasshouse will simply be venues at which we train and where we are based. We will continue to play home games at the MCG and Telstra Dome.

I think the term, 'home base' it probably more suitable, or even 'training base'.

If anyone's interested, I'll shoot down and take a few more pics. The new oval and running track on the old greyhound track look pretty schmick, but the old "glasshouse" is now just a shell.

Its a big complex WF. The part of Olympic park where the Storm play is actually between the old Glasshouse and our new training oval.

They have their own training field as well, and their own admin offices. Their gym is in another part of the complex as well.

Then there's a car park, yet another footy oval, etc etc .\

Have a look at http://www.olympicpark.com.au/ and select Map.

The purple bit is our new gym / pool complex. The green bit is where the Storm plays, and they have a practice field at the top right of that "wedge".

Our new practice oval, complete with two lane rubber running track will be at the bottom right.

Funny you say that because i was walking past the training oval for the storm (located on the walkthrough to the mcg) the other morning, and i noticed what i thought was a shed for equipment. It turned out to be the storms weights gym, and i have to say it looked like the facillities that a vfl footy club would have. I hope we keep them there and banish them from oylmpic park.
