You mustn't have been around many gay men or, well, anybody much interesting if you can't handle a bit of vulgar discussion about genitalia.
The irony is that Tony Abbott's comments in the past spoken by someone in a role of political office arguably were quite sexist. Slipper's text messages keeping in mind that I think it's totally despicable that a man's private text messages should be used against him in parliament weren't even vaguely sexist. I mean, calling Mirabella a 'botch' (?) wasn't very nice, but she's been called much worse on here. |
Botch? I think there needs to be a "sic" in there somewhere.
Gillard doesn't accept being called "Bob Brown's Bitch" but is okay with her speaker calling Sophie Mirabella a "Bitch".
Slippers texts were completely insulting.
Just close your eyes for a minute and imagine that it was Tony Abbott who sent those texts. Would you be as kind and understanding???? No way.... you would all be calling for his head. Not only would you demand he step down from Parliament, you'd all be signing petitions saying nobody should buy the products / services of the company he goes to work for should he go back into private enterprise. |
Bruno, I take it you haven't read any of my posts of late (it's ok, I know they can be a little tedious!). I've always vigorously argued against public figures' private lives and private communications being used against them. I also voiced my displeasure with the tactics employed by Jones's sponsors and opponents in the wake of the recent scandal.
I don't think it's ever, ever okay to hang someone over a private message, unless it happens to be construed as threatening or harassing to the recipient (confusingly, this is what Slipper is being accused of, but not because of his allegedly 'sexist' texts). Unless you and Tony Abbott are happy for us to sort through every single private letter, email, text message, photograph and conversation you've ever exchanged before forwarding the contents on to your boss and demanding your resignation, it's massively hypocritical of you to assert that Slipper should have been sacked over this.
We don't live in an Orwellian state yet. I've generally been under the impression that most people think that's a good thing. I'm not so sure about Tony any more. |
Lol you witless softcock David! You'd hate what I'd to that vermin if he ever got within swinging distance of me and my baseball bat. _________________ "Only the weak believe that what they do in battle is who they are as men" - Thomas Marshall - "Ironclad".

It would have been effective if she had have brought a motion to Parliament yesterday to sack Slipper, and then made that speech today.
Alas. All she looks like today is a political opportunist who only cares about holding onto power.
She backed the great demeanor of women, Peter Slipper.
Labor politicians apparently very hard to get a hold of for media interviews this morning. |

Let me guess .... women who are sick of hearing women constantly denigrated by the scumjock? And men who share their distaste for the cave-man shock jock and his relentless misogyny? That's good enough for me, Bruno. They are people who are making a difference in the world; making it a better place; making a difference to your life and mine. Good on 'em!
(I suppose you are lining me up for a big disclosure that one of these fine women once belonged to the Socialist Alliance, or the Labor Party, or the Glen Waverley Netball Club, or the Australian Greens, or the Young Farmers, or some other group you don't like. That's fine, 'cause I don't give a faark who they are: I only care that they are doing something to improve the world, so all strength and honour to them.) _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Oh FFS. Listen to the radio you fool. You can't book them for an interview 'cause they are all out in studios doing interviews to capitalise on Gillard's demolition of Abbott yesterday. I've just switched off another one 'cause I had other things to do, but it was good radio.
No, wait. I suppose you are listening to the Alan Jones Show. Well, I guess you are right - there won't be too many politicians appearing on that remnant of a radio show. (Other than Jones' protege Abbott, of course, who loves the man so much he stole his favourite funeral insult. What a disgrace that man is.) _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Just to answer...
Left-wing union official Sally McManus, who counts Employment Minister Bill Shorten as a friend and a failed former Labor Party candidate Victoria Brookman.
We can only assume the Love media in presenting this as some sort of social media grassroots phenomena unconnected to politics as yet more lies. It was nothing but an orchestrated political campaign. No different to running ads on telly. |

Nup. They have ALL gone into hiding Tannin. Every one of them. Peter Garrett's excuse was that he had to wash his hair. |

Anyone catch Tanya Plibersek on Lateline last night?
Suggest you head to the ABC website and watch it. Talk about someone finally asking the pertinent questions of her.
If she believes one word she says then I suggest she is in fact mental. I also reckon its a reason why ALP folk are all hard to catch today.
When The Age starts running AWU stories and criticizing Gillard and the ABC start nailing Labor pollies on being shameful hypocrites, it Hell in a hand basket time for this disgraceful disgraceful government. |

Baloney Bruno.
Watching ABC 24 this morning interviewing the poodle from SA (Lib), followed by Labour, then Jeneny Macklin- followed by 2 independents. Last night on lateline they were interviewing Albanese.
Just because Abbott is telling porkies doesn't mean you have to as well.
Your porkie pies aren't usually so obvious.
Abbott was simply grubby yesterday (Using the word shame & saying the goverment would die of shame) simply appalling behaviour given the immediacy of the Jones boy.
He was skewered by a brilliant speech by Gillard.
Take time to watch & listen to the you tube of her speech. Even you will find it magnificent. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman
