While we're all in the final act of "Full House" mode:
Dr Alf, my comment about your head being half way up your arse was a line too good to refuse (after someone suggested you pull your head in previously). I meant nothing by it other than a cheap one-liner that could have been used anywhere else where there was tension and a simple lead-in.
-Dr Alf makes up with Nick's family and group hug ensues.
-Cue live studio audience, "Ohhhhhhhh." |

I am slightly confused here Alf.
You’re suggesting we should have no qualm with the deregulation of the most defining thing about our football club?
Furthermore, you believe removing Collingwood from the AFL would have a positive effect on the greater scheme of things??
If this is so I must inform you that your grasp of economics and the significance of ones identify, is not very objective at the moment..
Tradition is something that every society strives to create... Arguably Australia compared to other regions of the world does not have a huge set of traditions based on its historical background.
One identifying factor of our nation is that we are sports fanatics. Now you are suggesting we break down one of the largest sporting figures in Australia for the sake of pleasing a much smaller minority? Please do qualify how you believe this is of benefit to anyone?
I am open to your opinion.. I just do not see any strength in the argument at this point in time...
Take Care
P.S. After reading through some other threads I have to clear up something here...
Are you debating that we should deregulate the black and white strip or just compromise on our away uniform. I dont want to see any other club wearing our strip, however I am open to changing our away jumper SLIGHTLY for the sake of visibility.
With that said... I also find the following quote very appropriate in the circumstances...
"It's funny that teams have been playing each other for over a century, sometimes in mud so bad that you couldn't even see the jumpers or the colours, yet only now has it become a problem. "

Hello, world, here's a song that we're singin', c'mon get happy
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin', we'll make you happy
We had a dream we'd go trav'lin' together
We'd spread a little lovin' then we'd keep movin' on
Somethin' always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feelin' when we're singin' a song
Trav'lin' along there's a song that we're singin', c'mon get happy
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin', we'll make you happy
We'll make you happy, we'll make you happy
That song is Good Old Collingwood Forever
*group hugs*

I'll tell you why this is now a problem.
Because we live in a society now that loves to bitch and moan and whinge. There is little tolerance, there is very little patience. This thread should die a natural death (or unnatural, anyone say lock).
We are all COLLINGWOOD and let's leave it at that, whatever other differences we have.

I agree totally! St Kilda do look stupid in yellow, the supporters in the crowd look like their suppoerting a totaly different team and I also said to my mum the other day they should wear red as it is one of their colours and no other team has a predominatly red jumper. And last night on the footy show, Sam Newman was right for once! If you confuse a Collingwood jumper with a port one, your insane! _________________ There is just one team we favour... |
