The AFL wont make you wear a diff jumper, on the couch Wayne Jackson said in years to come most clubs will wear alternate strip but 1 or two clubs. And when asked why dont you make them wear a alternate strip he replied with "we dont wanna look like we are bullying the clubs" . Gerald also said that it will be hard to make Collingwood change due to eddie and the fact eddie has the backing of alot of supporters. Jackson replied with thats why we cant force clubs due to there passion of the jumper but said most clubs will wear alternate jumpers in years to come.

boss351 is wrong yet again, the Collingwood jumper with the black back and white numbering was worn by the Pies earlier last century and was the jumper worn when we won 4 premierships in a row in the 1920's.

Actually, it wasn't if you look at any pictures from this time. Collingwood has never worn white stripes on black until the present design. There was a brief period where the stripes were reversed prior to 4 in a row, i.e. the white in the middle, and the odd player in the 20's also wore it like that (jumpers weren't mass produced or standardised with precision back in the early 1900's).

What the Port fan was saying was that Swan Districts jumper is similar to the present design. I think someone else got confused that he was referring to the one off shocker in the Escort Cup game in '82.

Well that's what El Presidente said when the jumper was launched in 2001. Has anyone got photos of the 4 in a row premiership years (1927-30) to check ?

I think we should change it!

From Black and White stripes to White and Black stripes!
