Post subject: Collingwood we thank you !! | |

Make no mistake about it the win at moron park on saturday night will go down into our history as one of our most significant home and away victories ever.
After consecutive losses to brisbane, essendon and sydney this club found it's self out of favour with the expectations of the football world and even some of our own were prepared to write collingwood off for season 2003.
To win at moron park the way we did on saturday night would of sent shivers up the spine of the other 15 clubs dont kid yourselves by just saying this was just a win.
It was the night we found belief and confidence which made us the powerhouse of the 2002 season i was proud to witnes such an event, lets hope the tarrant knockers now decide to support him rather than tear him to pieces it would be unfair to single out any collingwood player as the individual who won this game for collingwood it was indeed such a fine team performance but special mention has to go to brodie holland in defence along with rhyce shaw and jimmy clements.
Woewodin was sensational and never underestimate the importance of jarrod molloy in any collingwood side, obree is getting back to his best which can only be an added bonus.
To do what collingwood did was sensational it was on two ocassions 5 goals down during the game, we played against very good opposition at a venue that is as feral as they come.
In 3 words Thank you collingwood.
PS a very special thanks to the magpie army which was under seige all evening but we kept our cool it was without doubt the most emotional evening during any home and away season that we have faced, you did yourselves proud and i reckon you did collingwood proud the scenes which took place after tarrants goal will be something we will never forget the terraces were awash with passion and emotion which only collingwood supporters can muster and thanks to the team who came down to give there thanks.
Thanks for a very memorable evening. _________________ Collingwood today, Collingwood tomorrow,Collingwood forever... we'll always do things the collingwood way... side by side we stick together to uphold the greatest name in football.

I thought it couldn't get any better after the trip over to see the qualifying final last year. How wrong I was. It was bloody unbelievable.
Actually it was that bloody good I'm going to build a time machine and do it all again. |

Agreed tessa,
I watched it on tv too and at one point in the game it seemed like the whole crowd booed Ricciuto and felt like that suddenly we weren't in Adelaide anmore. I'd say the cowd was about 60-40 the Crows way, but the Pie Crowd certainly were very loud. |

Totally agree with you Joffa.........and the Cheersquad has to be very proud....It sounded as though you guys were just behind us when the COLLLLLIINNGWOOOOOOOOD chant went up.
The boo for rishito was probably the adelaide crowd yelling roo roo roo..although I am sure us collingwood supporters would like to take the credit for the noise as boos. _________________ Kaylene.

It was a chant for the adelaide player by the adelaide fans. _________________ Collingwood today, Collingwood tomorrow,Collingwood forever... we'll always do things the collingwood way... side by side we stick together to uphold the greatest name in football.

It was a victory for the true believers. Collingwood is the first Victorian team to travel interstate this year and bring home the four points.
The game just had so many twists and turns.
1. How many teams go interstate and win after being down by four goals at quarter time ??
2. How many teams go interstate and come back from a 22 point deficit at 10 minute mark of the last quarter ??
3. How many teams go interstate and win after being down at the final siren.....lol lol
The character showed by the players to come back time and time again after being down was amazing. It would have been easy to throw in the towel when things were tough. Instead they showed us one of the reasons why we love to go and support them each week!!!!!!!!
I guess when you see performances like that it makes the Sydney and Essendon loss so frustrating as i think we are in the top 3 teams in the AFL.
