Post subject: a country victorian magpies team | |

a story on the herald sun site,i just wrote bits and pieces of it about a country victorian magpies team, hope you enjoy it..
just read on the herald sun site that Wunghnu a small northern victorian towns footy team THE MAGPIES ended their 64 game losing streak at the weekend.
the club had not enjoyed the taste of victory since june 1999.
wunghnu FC president david dixon said the celebrations went around the clock until sunday evening.
pandemonium broke out when the final siren sounded, wunghnu 14.10.94 had defeated mathoura 10.13.73.
in scenes redolent of a premiership win,the clubs loyal band of supporters hoisted their heroes onto their shoulders and carried them off the ground like kings.
theyve been alot better lately, but its been good for them just to stay in the league.
Mr tuhan said it was a tribute to those behind the team that wunghnu has survived.
theyve been the easybeats of the league,mr tuhan said.
i hope you all like the story i got from the herald sun,i think it is kinda similar to the CFC a couple of yrs ago when they were the easybeats at 1 stage, and their loyal supporters and our supporters are exactly the same sticking by our sides through thick and thin through the tough times until they won a game, and huge celebrations broke out..
cheers bryan..!! |
