Matthews and Ed talkin outside the ground! What a wierd site! I had a read of the paper on the way to Brisbane and it had there that MATHEWS wanted to sut Ed up by winning the game and here they are talkin outside the GABBA after the game and they were talkin like they were best mates I was upset by that 1!

Ed is a good president and I aswell as many others admire him for what he has done for our great footy club but they shouldnt have the publicity stunts like this going because thats what brings pressure to the Pies winning the big games like that 1 and we didnt win the game~!

Well im off anyway this post will be just taken off here anyways like all my others!

They are friends, each uses the Media to push their own Agenda.

They also know the Banter makes headlines, hence you see more media publicity. Wait for the ratings figures are released on the game.

It comes down to exposure and the AFL, Brisbane & the Pies all benifit.

Don't also forget that Matthews nearly cleaned up young Ed with the MCG gate as he bolted down from the coaches box to celebrate our first premiership in 32 years. Matthews brought us the holy grail and ended years of misery. Lest We Forget.

Magpie_dan u cant really call Matthews a traitor, i'll always have a soft spot for Matthews, even if he coaches the opposite team who rite now i believe are our biggest rivles. BUT he did coach us to our first premiership in 32 years.

Eddie has said numerous time that their banter is just all in good fun and too promote the game. He has also said that they are good friends.

Therefore, it would not be suprising to see them talking.
