This bloke is .... words fail me
We can win a flag with Stunner as No.1 Ruckman.
He's all guts. He just competes and follows the coaches plan to the letter.
He supposes nothing, assumes no other identity, stands tall when we need him to and cares little about whom he opposes. He doesn't laugh at the odds, he simply ignores them, shrugs and goes to work.
Well done Steve on a great game last night. Keep up the good work. |

He bounced back well from his Wizard Cup final performance. He got his hand to the footy well. _________________ Do I look like the tech? |

Stunning is still not a ruckman, hit outs 32 to 19 Richmonds favour surely you dont think that is acceptable?
Hitouts Mckee 8 Stafford 17
Rocca 3 hall 14
other 8 other 1
I class stunner as a tall midfielder,me thinks he does well around the ground but not as a ruckman. |

Yeah i was very impressed with Stunner. It takes a person of gr8 character to come back from alot of average performaces and bagging. He played a good, solid game and things look really positive for the big man in 2003. Well done Steve, u did us all proud! _________________ Those with the most invested are the last to surrender!

Don't forget he was injured during wiz final - seems to be becoming a pretty consistent performer. Naturally you'd think it would be better if he won more hitouts, I wish I could actually see a game over here instead of just reports. If he is preventing the opposing ruck from getting many effective hitouts that is good enough considering how well he is doing round the ground - a bit in the vein of James Manson but maybe even better. I haven't figured out how he gets so many disposals since he doesn't seem as quck and flashy as Josh - but he almost never seems to get caught and finds space and time. Just a good footy brain and self-belief and solid skills I think, and strength.
I also wouldn't be surprised if his hitout ratio steadily climbs in the near future which could elevate him to star status. |

Stunning played an excellent match last nite...but we still arent getting first touch in the centre.
I was reading that Walker was recruited as a ruckman from claremont i think...is it worth trying him out for a week or 2? |

I dunno he may be a bit short at "only" 6'4" - and don't want to make the mistake a la Josh of exposing fellows to too much rucking punishment before they have developed sufficiently, I mean I think he is 18 or 19 yo. |

Great around the ground. Comes up against a strong tap ruckman and he struggles. Ran rings around Stafford, but that's due to Frawleys coaching as Stafford has no idea what to do after the tap out. |

There are nine players at Collingwood who can play ruck - McKee, Fraser, Walker, Crow, C.Cloke, Richardson, Richards, Rocca and even Kinnear. None of them is Gary Dempsey, but surely our ruck coach Peter Moore can coach a tap ruckman out of that lot, to give Steve the support he needs.
Perhaps its time to teach the teacher - I believe Sam Newman is on speaking terms with Eddie, perhaps he can give Peter Moore and his pupils some advice on ruckwork. |

Stunning steve always steps up to the plate when required....
he may not win alot of hitouts....but the key is the clearances....our midfielders need to read both ruckman.....not just the one in the black and white jumper _________________ THE PIES GO MARCHING ON
