LOKAN AND SHAW

Based on the preseason surely both Lokan and Shaw will play against Bitchmond.....

I feel they have earnt their spots......what y'all think???

Lokan certainly did quite well for his first taste of AFL (even though it was the Wiz cup) and I'd say I was impressed with his efforts. Shaw has been a revelation in the Wiz cup games, sure they are glorified practice matches but nevertheless his composure and consistency in applying himself has stood out. IMO he certainly has earnt his spot for Rnd. 1.

definatly! i think Shaw has been bloody awesome. he's come to prove a point this year and i just hope MM rewards him this year

i must admit i have not been a big fan of rhyce shaw over the years but think that he has proved himself over the pre season and deserves to play in the seniors against richmond.
same for lokan, the pressure he has been under at times in the back line he handles with no problems. he backs himself running out of defence and can nail a target.
looking forward to seeing how they both do over the season

both definately should play round 1, but is going to be tough as to who they leave out when lica, burnsie & cloke return !

i believe lokan and shaw will need to take the opportunity they have been given (or may be given?) and make mick have to choose others to make way for the their return. if those two stand out round 1, god knows who is going to miss out round 2 (bar any injuries of course) ????

You'd think that they'd both be certain starters against Bitchmond, especially with the absence of Presti & Cloke down back. I think Lokan will have to play cause we need to fill some holes in defence, and we need replacements with some height (as Josh may be missing also), or perhaps Richo may get a game

IMO Rhyce has done well enough throughout this pre-season comp to warrant a spot in Round 1, but you never know, perhaps either Freeborn, Holland or McGough may get in ahead of him?

I agree i think both will play. Its the best way to go. Both these players have earnt their spots for round 1. It will be up to the others to make up the lost ground and regain their spots.

The selectors may have a pleasant selection problem rounds 2 & 3 when

Burns, Licuria and Cloke will all return

i think that if Shaw and Lokan miss out that will be VERY VERY stiff.
I think both have had excellent Wizard Cups. If they both keep their form up they will be great assets for us this year and will force the people who are ahead of them to keep performing.

Can someone tell me how many weeks Licuria and Burns got? I though they both got 1 each. The way people ar etalking, obviously one of them got 2. Which one?

Cloke got 2 weeks but has already served 1
