At least the cats have conceded this time that it was us that won it and not them that lost it. Not much choice, I guess
(All quotes are from Scarlett)
Quote: | "I've played for a while and I've never seen a side that pressure (like Collingwood). They just swarm you," Scarlett said. |
Quote: |
"It was like they had three or four extra players out there. I've never seen anything like it. |
Quote: | "They put a lot of pressure on you and force you to over-handball." |
Quote: | "We were a bit shell-shocked. |
Quote: |
"We just weren't good enough, we got beaten by a better side. |
Quote: | "There are a few things we have to work on - adapt to the way the game is going.
"It's a tough challenge but I tip my hat to Collingwood they are a sensational side." |

Don't give them too much credit, there was also this...
Quote: | Geelong president Frank Costa slipped up badly when he lectured Collingwood and delivered a public character analysis of Mick Malthouse at a business breakfast in April.
Describing the Magpie coach as ''a control freak'' who ''doesn't like to share responsibilities'', Costa also made the observation that ''I just don't think it's good and healthy what they've done with Malthouse and Buckley''. Excruciating as it now is to relate, it didn't end there. Costa chided Malthouse for not spending enough time with his players, saying: ''I just think that is a weakness that will hurt Collingwood.''

Scarlett's a champion player, he's well-respected and not one to just shoot-off his mouth willy-nilly.
I reckon it's great that he's been public about his views, and he's pretty spot-on hey.
They're sure to work very very hard to maintain success, but it's going to be an uphill battle for them with their current list.

I give credit to Scarlett for saying those things. It would not have been easy.

F**k the curly headed prick, if he had any grace he would have not given Robert Harvey the send off he did. |

They have to say something as an excuse for their loss... some tell the truth others use it for pity.
On TV at half time you could see the game was over.
Geelong players were sitting like stunned mulletts.
The Aints wont know what hit them... all Collingwood players should be issued tissues to give umpires little boy Nicky after the game.

everyone was carrying on about what a bad idea the mm/buckley thing is.
i have read several suggestions in the last few weeks that the clubs who were appointing new coaches should do exactly this.
so last year this was a bad idea. now it's great idea. funny that. _________________ i like beer. |

You surely aren't suggesting the AFL football media are reactionary, trigger happy and short sighted are you? _________________ We just got nutted at the clearances... |
