Cam Davis shot a brilliant 9 under par 63 to lead the oz Open after Round 1.

WA Amateur, Hayden Hopewell returned a 65, to be third.

Min Woo Lee is 5 under after shooting a 67. He's equal 8th.

"Cameron Davis has set the bar high at the Australian Open with a flawless opening round of 63 at The Lakes in perfect morning conditions.

Champion six years ago, Davis put himself in prime position for another crack at the Stonehaven Cup with a nine-under par 63 before the arrival of afternoon rain.

His round featured seven birdies and an eagle and would have equalled the course record but didn’t count because players were allowed preferred lies because of the heavy downpours that drenched The Lakes and The Australian courses the day before."

Lee carded a second round 64 to lead by 3 strokes.

Little known Sam Brazel is equal 4th after a 65.

First round leader, Cam Davids dropped to 17th. with a 3 over 74.

Adam Scott and Cam Smith both hit 68s to be equal 28th.

Jeffrey Guan is a 19-year-old Australian golfer who has recently turned professional .

He shot a 66 to be equal 7th. 5 behind Lee.

Lucas Herbert is on minus 11, with Patrick Rodgers and Alex Fitzpatrick.
