i think commentry was at its best during the 1990s
love watching footy on tv back then
was the golden era of footy calling at the time |

The MMM commentary of the last 5 minutes of the GF is great. It's on YouTube.
McAvaney and Cometti were brilliant. I always liked Tim Lane and Gerard Whately is good.
To go back a long way, Lou Richards was great, humorous, descriptive and knowledgeable. On the radio Rex hunt tried to emulate him but was nowhere near as good.
BT isn't terrible, he's just not very good. |

There’s an 18 minute video on the AFL website called “44 Sons”. Pretty good.
If you go to 13:20 you will see I think definitively that the Nick Daicos goal was easily touched before it crossed the line. I’m happy to put that conspiracy to bed now. _________________ It's never as good/nor bad as it seems... |
