Adams -- hip. No details yet.
Update:
'Adams came from the field in the second quarter and did not return after half-time of the Pies 11 point loss to the Saints. When he came from the field it looked like he had pulled up sore while he was trying to maintain his balance after being pushed.
"[He is] good," Buckley said after the initial concern. "We just pulled the pin on him and will get him set for round one.
"No [concern]. He wanted to keep playing but then he could be missing an arm and he'd want to do the same thing."'

Geez, I hope he's fit and I hope he is in the side. Otherwise people will start questioning the club... again. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

COLLINGWOOD
Ben Reid - Ankle (TEST)
Taylor Adams - Hip (TBC)
Isaac Quaynor - Hip (1-2 weeks)
Flynn Appleby - Ankle (1-2 weeks)
Adam Treloar - Hamstring (2-3 weeks)
Tim Broomhead - Leg (2-4 weeks)
Travis Varcoe - Shoulder (4-6 weeks)
Lynden Dunn - Knee (6-8 weeks)
Levi Greenwood - Knee (16-24 weeks)
Dayne Beams - Mental health (Indefinite)
Tom Langdon - Knee (Indefinite)
Quote: | Adams pulled up sore after overstretching in the final hitout in the Marsh Community Series against St Kilda on Sunday, but the club believes he will be ready for the round one clash with the Western Bulldogs. Treloar will miss at least the season-opener and Reid could also be in doubt. Varcoe is tracking well after a shoulder reconstruction and Langdon is back running as he deals with a potentially career-threatening knee issue, while Greenwood seems determined to smash the traditional 12-month recovery timeframe for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. The Woods will also be conservative with Lynden Dunn, recently signed in the pre-season supplemental selection period, on his way back from a second knee reconstruction. Appleby, who had ankle surgery, is expected to return to full training shortly, while Broomhead remains in the rehab group after having a pin removed from the left leg he broke early in 2018. Meanwhile, Beams is reportedly set to retire. - Ben Collins

Adams should really be listed as a Test if he's expected to play in Round 1. Why they say "TBC" and then say he'll play round one is confusing.
Dunn still some time away, but seems Levi is coming along nicely, although still a long way from playing. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Treloar will miss the round one clash against the Western Bulldogs after suffering a hamstring injury at the weekend, while Reid could also be in doubt after an early exit in the Marsh Community Series hitout with Richmond. Varcoe is tracking well after a shoulder reconstruction and Langdon is back running as he deals with a potentially career-threatening knee issue, while Greenwood seems determined to smash the traditional 12-month recovery timeframe for a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. Quaynor underwent minor hip surgery and is believed to have battled soreness in the joint but is expected to return to full training shortly, as is Appleby, who had ankle surgery. Broomhead remains in the rehab group after having a pin removed from the left leg he broke early in 2018. Meanwhile, Beams is reportedly set to retire. - Ben Collins

For comparison, as usual Brisbane and Richmond have zero injuries. Not as usual, St. Kilda also have zero injuries.
Three clubs have a total of zero injuries!

Collingwood media had some picture of the players allegedly welcoming Flynn back to the training group. Who knows what that means? Was that after recovery, or before a fresh injury, or a welcome back to rehab? |

They don't say he'll play. They say "the club believes" that. Maybe they don't believe the club. |

Concerning is haven’t seen Scharenberg and his not listed as injured
Wonder what’s happening there
Langdon isn’t back running as reported
He’s tried running and every time they do his knee automatically blows up and takes 3-5 days to begin going down
Fact is the club and Langdon have consulted several specialists both locally and abroad and the opinion is his knee won’t handle the rigours of professional sport again
Degenerative knee with flaking bones
I’m hearing Greenwood could be available as soon as round 5
Miles ahead of schedule and hasn’t had any issues in increased training load
Treloar said on 360 last night he was 50/50 for round 1 but would be pushing for it
Said it was the least injury you could do to a hammy
Didn’t sound completely convincing more likely round 2
Beams has been training away from the club with a personal trainer in a bid to be fit if or when his mind is ready
Heard a whisper he’s been doing footy related skills training as well out in the country with a former team mate from the 2010 premiership team
Watch this space for a decision either way by end of April |

Great news on greenwood wow round 5 I thought it was more like around the bye rounds wow very impressive if true. Langdon though is one big grey area me thinks which is a bummer he may announce retirement in about a months time he knows he wants to play footy but his knees have a mind of their own. |

qldmagpies67- your news has filled my heart with joy- what an absolute bonus it would be if Beams were to come back on board.
I am less bullish about Langdon- degenerative knee conditions do not augur well for a sport in which running, twisting and turning are such a key component.
Greenwood and Dunn are excellent players to have up our sleeve- the season is long and requires plenty of depth through the tough, winter months. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |
