Tell Richmond to get ****ed. How about relocating all your members to the Punt Road End instead and leave us alone.
As Legends members, we're paying close to a $1,000 a year to have Home AND Away reserved seats. The club isn't going to let this go if they know membership revenue is at stake.
We've been in the Ponsford End since 2005, emulated the atmosphere of Victoria Park to the best of our ability, and the combination of a packed AFL members and Ponsford End for an away game is a formidable sight to behold.
In addition, Hawthorn and Melbourne shouldn't bite the hand that feeds them. Our high away attendance rate has bolstered their gate receipts at the MCG. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Let me get this straight. When I bought my Legends membership I was allocated a seat in The Ponsford for all home and away games. That included all games against Richmond and at the time it was not an issue because they were crap and they did not have enough membership demand to need the seats in The Ponny that were allocated to me and other Pies’ Legends members. Then a decade later they started a period of winning. Everyone from Clayton and Noble Park came out of the woodwork and started buying seats. Richmond eventually needed some seats in The Ponny for home games. But for their home game they are now asking to kick me out. ?? What happens when they are crap again? _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

This is the kind of commercial haggling that goes on all the time. Inevitably contracts end up being lopsided the longer they go on and you get the sense that if we were trying to negotiate this agreement from a blank piece of paper right now we would get the same deal the other tenant clubs have. Lets see how our new President and CEO can wheel and deal their way through the matter.
As an aside - I did appreciate the letter from the club (CEO) to Legends members giving us a heads up about the matter. I thought that was a good move and hopefully a sign of better communication from the club to its members. _________________ It's never as good/nor bad as it seems... |

It is surprising as only two of the legends member categories include reserved seating for away games. I wonder just how many legends memberships we have today versus when the deal was put in place.
Since 2005, total AFL memberships have doubled from half a million to more than a million, so it’s not surprising that a deal put in place then will have to be different to any new arrangements. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

Fair or not fair, that wont matter at the end of the day, iust what the two parties can negotiate. Clearly the agreement will change, but its the other items of value we get in exchange. The Board & management would have been war-gaming tis out for some time TBH.
Let's see what happens in the end.
Just keep on winning and we will fill the place every week, just like we did aginst Freo in last years semi last year with 90k _________________ Buzz

Our problem is we have no other realistic option but to play our games at the MCG. That puts us in a weak negotiating position.
I sometimes dream that I win a billion dollars in a lottery and use it to build a stand alone 60,000 seat stadium for Collingwood - New Victoria Park. |
