We re-selected Murley with our first pick.

Not sure if we have a second pick? Or if we'll even use it if we do.

Daniel Howe received a lifeline with north.

Brown Boys miss out. Poulter misses out. Jed Anderson is now out of the AFL, as is Sydney Stack and Collier-Dawkins.

I apologise for not knowing something I should but can someone please tell me a bit about Murley and the position he excels in? Thanks

Ethan Phillips the 2022 VFL Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal winner didn't end up being selected.

If we wanted to add to our key defensive stocks for next season then could he be a possibility to train with us?

Probably not as it seems like we may be content with our key tall options for 2023.

How about another West Australian in Sam Gilbey to keep Allan company and considered the best player overlooked after today's rookie draft according to fox footy/champion data ranking?

Mitch Szybkowski and Adam D’Aloia a couple of other players overlooked that I recall being mentioned in the lead up to the national draft.

Hi all from sunny Japan. Drafts are done and dusted but what about our list? Do we have any free spots remaining for the SSP or MSD next year?
Who are the free agents we might target at the end of 2023?

Cooper Murley

MIDFIELDER-FORWARD
19 yo. 178cm. 67kg. South Australian.

Cooper is a speedy midfielder and has a good goal sense. Has been likened to Zak Butters (Port Adelaide) for his ball-winning ability and blend of acceleration and endurance.

He was actually expecting to be selected by the Crows in the 2021 Draft, but they went another direction and Collingwood took him with pick 49. Says he'll always be a Blues boy at heart, which tells me he might not be fully invested at Collingwood.

Here is a link to his VFL stats: https://vfl.aflmstats.com/player/Cooper_Murley

He played 18 games with an average of 13 disposals and kicked 11.5 goals for the year. His best game was in round 9 against the Suns, where he had 19 disposals, 2 goals, 5 tackles and 7 marks.

Similar to Joe Richards this year, only 16 players were drafted after Cooper, which included 4 academy/father-son selections. And we also took Harvey Harrison at pick 52.

He's got a big battle in front of him in 2023, but lets get behind him.

Is he the first Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal winner not to be drafted since 2005?

Very sad for him.

https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/ethan-phillips/

198cm key defender and is already 23 years old. We took Charlie Dean last year who is 195cm.

Are our key defensive stocks that low?
