Legislative Council updates:

Western Metro: Legalise Cannabis seem to have edged out the Victorian Socialists here. Another seat has come into contention in the meantime – there’s an outside chance that DLP candidate Bernie Finn could overtake the Liberals for the fifth seat. (I think it’s fair to say that any electoral system that rewards people like Finn and Somyurek – after being kicked out of major parties for being too corrupt and subsequently standing for a party hardly anyone supports or has even heard of – can get in the bin.)

Western Vic: Greens have caught up to Legalise Cannabis and it’s now effectively a dead heat. Bonham reckons there’s no way we’ll know who comes out on top here until the final results are tabulated.

Results to be announced on Tuesday.
