Assuming we finish fourth, on the basis we may lose a game out of next two i actually would not mind at all, facing up to the all conquering ol Cats in the first Final, first plays fourth match. I reckon a lot of Cat fans right now, are very wary of us, concerned even. I recall early this season, we were six goals up on them at three qtr time, then Cameron cut loose, and ran over us. Back then, we were not playing anywhere near as well as we are now, plus we did not have fast kids like Johnson and Carmichael, they werent there then. Now they are, and would worry the Cats backs no end, plus jamie if firing, and we are playing better determined footy, as we are now more used to Flys brilliant new game plan, we have it down pat. I truly think we could take the Cats down now, in a Final, on the MCG , not their peanut sardine home ground, thats another plus for us, if we meet them early in the Finals.

Yeh, for mine, bring it on. Surprised Cool

We play a game style that's highly taxing. Early in the season we didn't have the collective stamina to run out games like we are now, nor the faith in the game plan.

We clearly have some work to do on clearances and restricting F50 entries, but the team game we're playing has been standing up.

Interestingly I read an article today, last time Collingwood and Geelong both had runs of 11 consecutive wins in the same season was 2011.

Plus Geelong have an appalling record in week one of finals with one win in the last 10 years!!!

Beat the Swans and Brisbane at the MCG is just as good!

I guess, the other thing to consider, is if we play Geelong in week 1 then we wouldn't need to face them in a Prelim. I think we and the Cats are the 2 best sides, and I'd prefer to play them in the grannie than in the prelim.

I think this is the most likely outcome, we may lose this week and beat the Blues, locking us into 4th against them.

The way David King babbles on bout the ol Cats, you would think they are invincible, does he realise the age of this team, their ageing stars ?? Ok they are top of the tree, but how many shit easy games do they get at Kardinia Park, really, always against easybeat teams, they know every blade of grass at that sardine can oval, win all their games there, thats what gets em into top four, season after season. ! Id love to get them on the MCG, its big open spaces, and give them some real Collingwood heat and pressure.

The MCG isn't the achilles heel of Geelong.

Geelong's last 20 games at the MCG: 15 wins, 5 losses
Collingwood's last 20 games at the MCG: 13 wins, 7 losses

True, but this new Collingwood + the MCG might - just might - be the arrow in the Achilles tendon. We can hope.

Also, their recent record at KP is 8-3 or 72%. So, slightly worse than their MCG record over the same period

Anyway, playing at KP is not something we need to worry about

As for when we play them, PF would be fine for me. Then if we make the GFI would feel pretty confident. And if we don’t, we’ll I’d rather not have another Geelong GF loss on our record

Cats will be on a 13 game winning streak and coming off a bye.
The must be due for a loss.

Win this week against Swans and we dont meet Geelong in first week of finals as we will finish 2 or 3.
