In this week's game preview, some interesting charts
1:37 We lost the clearances and contested possessions in the last 5 games
Against Melbourne, we probably won't get away with it.
IMO, Will the absence of Adams make such a difference?

Langdon says the Magpies are “a bit of a one-trick pony” and are “all duck, no dinner” in the way they play.

Was Langdon making a sneaking reference to Ginnivan??
Happy for him to speak in this manner.

Happy for them to think they will win easily and underestimate us. Gives us more chance to screw them over.

Checkers in for Adams.

Bianco's lost his spot

Crisp named in the centre, N.Daicos named as ruck/rover
Our IC is chock full of talent

So Josh Carmichael is the replacement for Tay Adams, and Checkers returns. So our selectors have decided that the best way to compensate for the loss of Adams is to include Josh Carmichael. Idea might be for Carmichael to largely float in the forward line and release Jamie/JDG into the midfield. It will be interesting to see who we call to be the medi-sub, now that our super-sub is actually now in the starting 22. Clearly Callum Brown is there as a potential booster to our midfield should we lose a player, and he would be the "safe" option for sub. I think it will either be Brown or Bianco.

Bianco has incumbency so is most likely to be the medical sub, cal Brown next cab off the rank.

I like this approach. Carmichael is creating headaches for the opposition as he is tall, a good mark and a good kick for goal. JDG needs to play a blinder

And furthermore, I shall remove the leather glove from my hand, and strike you abruptly across the face with it, not once, not twice, but thrice!

And in other news, Dees have made the changes below to their squad:
Umpires: Andrew Stephens (12), Robert Findlay (23), Simon Meredith (21)

Just saw David King on Fox Footy discussing Collingwood. He is quite in awe of how our team is playing. He pointed out that our team is doing one major thing better than any other in the competition: gut running. We are able to get numbers into the contest more rapidly than any team because of this massive drive to run. He showed footage of how this played out in our game with PA, where we created an outnumber in our F50 due to WHE's gut running down the wing to be at the end of a chain. Likewise how in defence how we so rapidly amass numbers where the ball is in dispute to outnumber the opposition. He said: "Thiis is a team in total sync. Forget the stats, they are creating something special".

Will we do this the entire game to shift small forwards into the midfield?
Seems OK to introduce variety but we still need a designated centre player.
Crisp is named there and you're right, probably Callum Brown as backup.

We are trying to patchup our weakness with band-aid solutions (but creative)

As expected, it's actually 2 changes.

Checkers in for Adams and Carmichael comes in for Bianco.

I think it is actually (at the risk of appearing pedantic) the other way around.
I think Carmichael is coming in for Adams, and Bianco is making way for Checkers.
Bianco is squeezed out simply because we cannot field 23 players at once.
Carmichael is the semi-mid who plays a role in replacing Adams.
