Apparently Collingwood is heavily invested into Sydney Swans Logan McDonald who is out of contract at the end of this year. The 4th pick in the 2020 draft is tipped to request a trade to the magpies at the end of this year to become the key forward the Pies have been looking for since the departure of Travis Cloke.

Won't mind this, fits the age profile for our next finals push.

THE YOUNG SWAN WITH A “HUGE FUTURE” AHEAD OF HIM
https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/02/09/the-young-swan-with-a-huge-future-ahead-of-him/

The Swans drafted the highly-touted Logan McDonald with the fourth overall pick of the 2020 AFL Draft, such was the potential of the blistering key forward. Recruited from East Fremantle, he enjoyed a breakout season in the WAFL, proving he is more than capable of handling senior level footy with 21 goals in just nine appearances to finish as the club's leading goal scorer. After enjoying a strong pre-season upon his arrival at the Swans, John Longmire handed him his AFL debut in Round 1, where he kicked three goals in the club's emphatic victory over Brisbane Lions. He finished the campaign with nine goals in his seven appearances, and will look to cement a place in the Bloods' star-studded forward line in 2022.

I guess you primarily mean the trade value, Dave.
Lot of water under the bridge yet but if we were to finish anywhere below 13th, we wouldn’t be to far off the mark with our first rounder. Once a player is out of contract and wants a trade, the parent club loses a bit of clout anyway. I think we’re holding three third rounders at this stage, so there would be plenty ti work with … if it were all true.

As DTM said, McDonald grew up a Pies fan, like his dad... but he also vowed to "repay the faith" of any team who drafted him

Yep. And when he was drafted DeGoey vowed to Buckley that he wouldn't let him down.
So... The vows of youth are not to be taken too seriously.

Well, if he comes then leaves at the end of his first contract to go back to WA, we won't have anyone to blame but ourselves

Kids manager must be preparing to negotiate his next contract with the Swans.

Never a truer word spoken. Let's socialise a link to Collingwood.

I would be surprised if Logan chose the Pies over WA. Perth clubs will be heavily into him.
