Well thought out team. Pity Lynch still isn’t on our list as having him in the ruck would have the team even more well balanced.

Begg is the ruckman / forward in that lot, at U18 level at least.
There is so much upside in this group, it’s going to be an exciting ride.
As it stands, we go to the 2022 draft with our first round pick and 3 or 4 third rounders.
So much for all the morons in the media who said we wouldn’t have anything more to show than Daicos for the next two years. The club should be applauded for its manoeuvring and strategising throughout the 2021 draft and trade periods. Daicos, four more selections, Krueger and Lipinski is a very decent haul in the off season.

Since the salary cap dump, they haven’t really put a foot wrong. Some decent pickups in last years draft. Added some height and speed in this years trade/draft period.

It’s an exciting time coming up and now with a rejuvenated coaching group we could bounce back into the finals sooner than the predicted 3 years.

There's something pretty special about watching a young team develop. Feels like my passion is starting to rekindle.

so long as we arent developing a team of young Luke Godden's and Jason Wilds. I'm a bit worried that a lot of the team are just future list cloggers. A lot of late draft picks in this years crop. not saying none of them will become good players, but the probabilities of snagging a great player after pick 30 is extremely low! Not zero, but probably below 5%.

Two recent picks at down the list numbers were fruitful

Dane Swan at 58

We finished wooden spooners in 1999 then restructured our whole coaching panel and picked up a very highly rated player along with some unknown youngster's…..we played off in a GF 3 years later.

Anyone writing us off for success within the next few years only needs to look back to 1999-2002 and see how quickly progress can be made.

Depends on perspective I suppose but not sure 20 and 15 years ago is so recent

Of course by the time some of these 20/22 year olds could have anything up to 75 games by the time say Roughead/Pendles/Cox/Sidey/Howe hang up their boots
What happens between now and then will shape our success

HE was the architect behiind the Hawks three flags, we are indeed blessed to have him, plus our brand new Coach and his Assts, its all looking good. Even a devoted Tigers fan told me, she reckons we have a great era coming up, down tthe track a bit. Surprised Very Happy
