Are they still with the club?

Mark Jamar (ruck) and Nick Maxwell (leadership and culture manager) were both with the club in 2021. Are they still going to be with us next season?

Craig Black is going to remain the VFL coach. Jetta will play in the VFL, not sure about Scott Selwood. And I've was wondering if there was any chance that Troy Selwood returns to the club?

Matt Spangher was also with Collingwood mainly at VFL level in 2021. Has been linked with a move to the Bulldogs.

More questions than Christopher (Dees fan) from Camberwell calling Dwayne Russell. Smile

A report in the Herald Sun that Josh Fraser is in negotiations to return in a development role.

Jetta to play VFL. Scott Selwood still at the club but got injured last year operation I think so don’t know if retired from playing. He is definitely on the coaching list. Troy Selwood left for personal reasons and is no longer at the club as I understand

Quote:
2022 coaching panel

Craig McRae – AFL senior coach

Justin Leppitsch – Head of Strategy and defensive coach

Brendon Bolton – Director of Coaching and stoppage coach

Hayden Skipworth – Forwards coach

Scott Selwood – Midfield coach

Josh Fraser – Head of Development

Neville Jetta – Development coach

Ash Close – Development Coach

Craig Black – VFL & NGA head coach

So from that, can we assume that Mark Jamar, Nick Maxwell, Brad Gotch, Jamie Cassidy-McNamara and Shane Joules are gone?

So Skipworth and Scott Selwood remain from last year. As does Black as VFL coach.

Selwood joined up for the start of 2020, with Skipworth and Black starting in 2021.

Jamar signed up for 2021 as well, but cant see his name anywhere now.

And if Maxwell and Gotch are gone then we have no one older than 2020 in our coaching staff.

Jamar's role was only part-time, so it's possible he'll remain working for us, though I guess Josh Fraser could do some ruck coaching as well.

As for Nick Maxwell, I never understood why any club would need a specialist culture and leadership person. The leaders should be the coach, captain and VCs, and the culture should evolve organically from within the whole playing group.

Cassidy-McNarama didn’t survive the 2020 covid cutbacks. Was high performance manager at Seaford in ‘21.

Likewise Brad Gotch who was West Adelaide coach in ‘21 and Shane Joules who was the Northern Bullants list manager in ‘21.

Still a bit of an unknown with Maxy and Jamar. And even Wells.

Spangher been linked with a move to the Dogs, re: 7 news.

Any club with Nick Maxwell there in whatever role he has, is better from having his presence there. I'm sure the club could have accommodated him.

Maxwell is in an admin role and was "sharing" footy operations duties with Marcus Wagner- Id suggest they are still working through the admin set-up with Marcus leaving.

You won't get an argument from me on the value of Nick Maxwell. I was really questioning the role of a culture manager. I like the idea of Maxwell working with Wrighty and maybe taking over as footy head one day.
