Aiden Begg
Ash Johnson
Isaac Chugg
Liam McMahon
Reef McInnes
None of these guys have played for us yet. I don't know if they've played VFL, given Covid restrictions. Apart from some short pen pictures, I don't know much about any of them. Are they all "wait and see"? Do any of them have obvious potential. Comments and info would be much appreciated. |

Chugg and Reef played VFL - both showed signs. Reef more in the back end of season coming back from injury.
McMahon played VFL early in the year, had issues with concussion. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

The two mid-season draftees were injured for most of the second half of the year and haven't played VFL. As for the other three, Chugg played every match (i.e. nine, which was all the team managed in this interrupted season), McMahon seven and McInnes six. Ash Johnson interests me the most. He is still yet to play a game for Collingwood at any level on the back of repeated finger surgery.
Pick three in the mid season draft and he was selected well ahead of Cooper Sharman at # 21. Both are very similar types in terms of their physical attributes and the strengths in their game. Strong hands, agile and good speed over short distances.
Point being, Sharman came into the Saints team late in the season and looked like he belonged from the opening minute. I’m hoping the fact that we overlooked him for Johnson, only proves that Johnson too, will own his position from the moment he’s first selected. Time will tell. |

Begg and McMahon coming good would change the future landscape, Johnno is a 3rd tall but the other two are the kind of legit keys we are crying our for. And if Reefer becomes the big bodied mid we need we'll have most of the pieces of the puzzle going forward, still need some quality intercepting defenders and a genuine crumber but they are easier to come by _________________ Moore De Goey |

I agree. However, given Roughead is nearing the end of his career, we also need an understudy full back who can make the position his in a couple of years. Of course, Kelly may fit that role, but more recently he's been penciled in as a future forward. I guess we'll have to wait and see where McRae sees him. |

For what its worth-
Of those above, would love to see the following into our midfield mix in 2022: McInnes, Tyler Brown, McRae, McCreery,
Many options for McRae/Leppitsch/Bolton to consider moving forward.
Some of the above are purely speculative.
Goal to goal line possibilities
Moore- Kreuger- De Goey- Weideman- McBean
Kreuger- Moore- Pendlebury- Begg- De Goey
Moore- Weideman- Tyler Brown- Kelly- Cox
Kreuger- Moore- McInnes- Weideman- Cox
Moore- Kelly- Pendlebury- McMahon- Begg
The list goes on...
