We shouldn't have laughed really, but..

Walking the dog with the grandkids yesterday and on the road near the park was a squashed baby magpie, flat as a pancake.
Hayes suggested we go back home, get a bucket and take the squashed magpie to the vet.

Humour... I don't find either of the following funny at all. The 'day today', I couldn't watch more than a minute, maybe it got funnier?

Each to their own! British comedy isn't for everyone, and The Day Today is very much in the Monty Python-style dry/deadpan vein that I know some people hate.

As for the parody of The Slap, maybe familiarity with the original series helps? (It's kind of old news now I guess.) But on a fundamental level I don't think that kind of humour even can be explained – either it makes you laugh or it doesn't! I've watched it multiple times and laugh even just thinking about it.

If you want to know what doesn't make me laugh, put me in front of literally any episode of Saturday Night Live – there's something about that American style of humour that just does absolutely nothing for me.

Mullet Festival, anyone?

Quote:
Mulletfest coming to a venue near you in 2023!

Mulletfest in Kurri Kurri is an event that honours the best Mullet cuts in various styles and categories, including 'everyday', 'grubby', 'ranga' (red hair), 'vintage', 'extreme', 'international' and 'junior'.

All competition entrants are judged on their haircut, overall presentation and stage presence, and the person with the “Best Mullet of them All” is crowned on the day and takes home that worthy honour.

Not only does Mulletfest encourage the celebration of a unique hair style, and the fun-loving atmosphere that goes with it, but the event also supports local charities and those in need.

Join the fun this year and be part of the ever growing 'Party in the Back' that is Mulletfest!

Yesterday morning, Mum took off to the Aged Resi care joint in Toc to visit her sister in law while I got stuck into mowing the lawns. 2 hours later she's not back. I have a shower and just got dressed when the phone rang. It's Mum. She's got her mobility scooter stuck somehow. In the car, off to where she is but in the 5 minutes since the call a passer by has helped her out. She'd crossed the road on the scooter and was going back up onto the footpath but the entry part must have been a bit low or the wrong angle and she got wedged with the back wheels just spinning.

Followed her home in the car, left her sitting out the back with a glass of water to gather her bearings before she could tell me about her morning, and I went out the front to put the soaker hose on the naturestrip.

Young mother out walking with her dog, one girl about 6 on foot and another about 3 on a tiny bike with training wheels.

The little one on the bike got too close to the gutter (which are curved gutters up there ) and got the training wheels on the gutters edges which meant the back wheel was off the ground. She's pedalling like a demon, the bike isn't moving, just back wheel spinning in the air, and she starts to squeal. Mum tells the older daughter to help, but as soon as she approaches, young one squeals at her too. I'm standing there watching the show and grinning. Young mum looks at me, looks at the daughter, back to me and just says "Free to good home" which made me laugh. By now, elder daughter has got mini cyslist unstuck and she's riding behind mum sniffing in embarrasment.

Longish story but what made me laugh most in all this was the congruency (I think that's the right word) of within 15 minutes having an 84 year old stuck in a gutter on a mobility scooter with the wheels spinning to a 3 year old stuck in a gutter on a bike with the wheel spinning.

Since I switched to mirrorless cameras, I’m selling a few of my DSLR lenses that dont really work properly with the adapter. Plus I want new ones! So a lady meets me at the beach house, I say try it on your camera. She takes a couple, says can you take one of me and my daughter. She looks at it and says oh wow, are you a pro, can you take a heap more! No please. Hmmm ok. So I did basically a mini session! Then she wanted a discount on the lens. Nope, ihave another buyer! In the end I had to lie to get her to leave! Cheeky bugger! It was a quality L lens, and her camera has seen better days! Shoulda updated that instead! But hey,it made her happy!

At this point I’m pretty convinced that no-one here shares my sense of humour, but maybe someone will get a laugh out of this:

Hearing Wasim Akram say that the whole Pakistan Cricket team were fans of the 12th man back in the day.

Wasim particularly loved his alter ego, Wasi Akrim. (Was he a Crim)

The goat screaming and the biting...and that one of the cops looks like her twin make for a very entertaining performance.....or demonic possession; I'm sure her head spun around a few times.

Nope, I even forced myself to watch it all the way through. 4 minutes of my life I'll never get back.
