Lot of rumours doing the rounds that Cristiano Ronaldo will be joining Manchester City soon.

Cristiano Ronaldo signs with Manchester United in massive £20 million deal

"one of the most dramatic days in Premier League transfer history"

"Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes spoke to Ronaldo when it emerged he would be available on the market and United sources believe Sir Alex Ferguson may have contacted him."

"United’s negotiations yesterday were swift and a fee was agreed, with £12.85 million paid up front and £6.85 million in add-ons."

'A statement issued by the club on Tuesday read: "Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

"The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.

"Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team's progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch."'
...

In a simultaneous statement, Ronaldo ... said: "Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.

"I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.

"I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future."
...

He is free to join another club immediately after leaving Old Trafford and will not have to wait until the January transfer window.'

Ronaldo may miss do-or-die World Cup clash after substitution spat

"Fernando Santos, the Portugal manager, has reprimanded Cristiano Ronaldo over his angry reaction after being substituted against South Korea and there is now a major doubt over whether he will start against Switzerland..."

Sound familiar?? Shocked

And this:

"Ronaldo, though, did not appear at the pre-match press conference following fresh reports in the Spanish media that he had now agreed a £150 million ($273m) annual deal to sign for the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr FC in January."

‘There was genuine interest’: Why Ronaldo knocked back A-League offer

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/there-was-genuine-interest-why-ronaldo-knocked-back-a-league-offer-20221207-p5c4ad.html

'The A-League has conceded defeat in its ambitious pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo – at least for now – but the competition could yet make a splash in the January transfer window as high-profile players revisit their club futures after the World Cup.
...

Now 37, the Portuguese superstar’s powers are clearly on the wane, having been dropped to the bench for his national team as they won through to the World Cup quarter-finals with a 6-1 rout of Switzerland.
...

Despite his apparent determination to remain at Europe’s top level, it appears Ronaldo’s next move will be to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, who have reportedly tabled a whopping $313 million, two-and-a-half year deal he could sign in January.
...

Ronaldo himself has denied he’d done a deal with Al-Nassr. “No, it’s not true,” he said after Portugal’s win over Switzerland yesterday.'

Mr Irrelevant, now. It's like being the quarterback taken with the last pick of the 7th round in the NFL draft.
