Ya reckon "Collingwood Brownlow medalist" is misleading? |

We finished second last. North had pick one, they finished last. |
Well that was my Homer Simpson moment - Doh!
I got confused and thought we had traded rookie pick s but I figure you can't do that. _________________ I think therefore I think - I think |

Correct. Trading of picks only occurs in the primary draft. Technically, we had the first live pick in the rookie draft because North re rookied Polec as promised. Collingwood would have known they went to this draft with the first pick of the litter available. There’s always something exciting about selecting a dominating VFL player because the maturity and development is well advanced, so if he is up to it, we’re all going to know sooner than later. |

True. I didn’t realize there were guys out there available in the forties, as good as Murley and Harrison. There must still be opportunities for Dib in the mid season draft next year or national draft next year. He’s still very young and he has genuine talent. |

Good points, MBFC.
I really liked his highlights package & looks to be a natural born "stopper" as you noted.
These types offer real versatility - I reckon he has very good "footy instincts" as opposed to just being athletic, and going by those highlights is one who can "read" the play very well, both ways.
Will be watching him with interest. May he become right at home with the big boys |

Same applies to Charlie Dean. There was genuine depth in this year’s draft like there there was last year. You can have talented players like Dean and Dib and they struggle to get onto an AFL list, not because they don’t have the talent, but because the clubs can’t fit them all onto their lists. |
