Post subject: It gets worse : Trade Week | |
|
According to Footy Classified tonight Collingwood traded their second round draft pick last year to Gold Coast Suns or something like that. So that means finishing second last in 2021 gives us no trade week benefits. It really gets worse! I have already predicted that we are rapidly shaping up like Carlton / Essendon 15 years ago and really risk being in football wilderness for a decade or more. Heads should roll for this mess and I am not seeing much hope yet in the contenders for various on and off field positions. _________________ I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for. |

Calm the farm. We will recruit a top 5 pick at the very least. |

The administration maxed out it's credit cards to keep the team together for 2018 and, when that Premiership didn't happen, went into draft debt to bring in the missing piece (Beams) for 2019.
The administration figured that if we snagged a Premiership the supporters wouldn't care that it had stuffed up the salary cap / draft.
The plan didn't work and Collingwood are now paying the price and will be for a few more years.
As for "heads should roll", the biggest head in Collingwood history has rolled (but for other reasons).
We might conjecture that the whole plan was put in place to allow this "head" to retire following a Premiership win. |

I really hope we don’t loose Brayden but if he feels HE wants to go
Then let’s be astute as to how we deal and who we deal for _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

We’ve got the best U19 year old in the country coming to the club next year.
We’ve pre selected Aiden Begg ( 2021 mid year draft ) as a tall who would have been picked up in the 2021 draft anyway
We also have access to Yousef Dibb as an N G A prospect if the cards fall our way ( and they likely will )
Not sure I would call that “ it’s gets worse “. I would call it a solid start off a very low base. |

Not many heads left to roll! _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

Calm the farm?
I thought we sold the farm, and all the remaining stock at the fire auctions last year?! _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Makes it easy to calm...
Imagine if we had Pick 2 this year and had to expend it on Nick Daicos!

Cerra is a jet.
Shame we don't have anything worthy to trade. |

Okay, so just to clarify - hypothetically: could we NOT take Daicos with 2nd round pick, if he falls under father/son rule? Thus would that have left us with a first rounder to take Horne, or another highly touted prospect?
It sure is confusing!

I'm sure he'll enjoy his time at Geelong, who aren't bothered by nonsense such as salary caps effecting their annual recruiting sprees... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

^ I believe Carlton is the preferred option.
They also don't seem to be encumbered by all that salary cap rubbish. |

Not if another club bid on him in the first round. |
