Club has just announced we've reached 80,000 members, which is the second highest membership figure in our history.

Great effort by all members. Considering it's been a tough year for the club, that's a very good number.

There will be many cynical responses (as was my initial reaction), but that is a genuinely impressive result given how tumultuous the last 12 months have been.

Since 1999, when Daics was behind the (I think) 20,000 by 2000 member drive. Nothing going to change for me, until I'm pushin' up daisies.

Not bad at all, i will probably renew mine next season. I think the Tigers have the highest, 108 000, but knowing their somewhat fickle fans, the micro burning memberships of yester year, that number could drop off from now on, they dont do defeat at Tigerland very well nowdays, after 3 flags.

Richmond claim they have 103,450 members.

I wonder what our numbers could be if we replicated what they did in the last four years.

It really is something considering what we're going through. Yeah, Richmond cracked the tonne, but it took them winning a flag to do it. We'll see how many hang around now they're on the slide.

The real figure is supporter revenue (memberships, merchandise, etc.). We know there are cheap 3-game memberships, dog memberships, etc.

On supporter revenue, WC are way, way ahead of every other club, including Collingwood. Richmond are nothing. They still get/got more AFL funding than Collingwood.

This is absolute crap! According to Leigh Mathews and others who know what is really going on, there are only approximately 13000 Collingwood members with voting rights . In my consistent opinion on this topic, the only members that really count are voting members. The rest are silly memberships such as babies, pets, digital, etc. I can’t believe people on this site start salivating like Pavlovs dogs over this crude PR marketing stunt announcing 80 k members. It is just piss and wind. The members that really count are those that pay the premium memberships that are attached to full voting rights. 13000 of these. I couldn’t give a stuff about babies , pets, digital, etc. Stop pretending that we are some super power Club with huge memberships. It is like Scomo counting preferences from One Nation. A delusional fool who thinks you can fool all of the people all of the time.

If we appoint Pyke or Voss as our coach, we'll be down to 79,999 members, as I'll burn my membership card.

I have an interstate membership package (Qld) (that doesn't provide voting rights), last I checked I'm not a baby, pet or digit (however I do have a choice digit for people who don't think I'm a real member or supporter).

Merchandise figures from that source are incomplete, but
e.g.
West Coast – $3,939,331
Geelong – $2,368,611
Essendon – $1,844,974
...

So we can guess that our merchandise revenue was about $4 million.
