Skilton, of course, was a wonderful player. It's a pity he didn't ever play for a good team. I remember listening to that 1970 first-semi against St Kilda and hoping like hell that Skilts would be on the winning team. They weren't even close - but he was one of their best handful on the day (along with Stevey Hoffman and Peter Bedford, IIRC - but then it's over 50 years ago, now). |
The Chimp was a great player. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Getting a coach who actually has a clue about ruck work would be a good first step towards Grundy regaining form I feel. _________________ We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Interesting topic really
Would I have paid him so much for so long ? No I wouldn’t have
That sort of money for mine goes to the absolute elite of elite in your team I don’t think Grundy is that in this side
But let’s out that aside
The contract itself is what it is we offered it he took it so there it is
My concern is and has been (and I’m not wanting to pick a fight with me old sparring partner P4S)
Is it our mids who can’t rove to Grundy or Grundy can’t hit it to our mids ?
I am no expert and happily bow to those more knowledgeable than me on this but I watch closely other rucks and see them using subtle hand movements to tap the ball in the general direction of his mids. Grundy for mine doesn’t use this subtly as well as other rucks. He can out jump most and out muscle most and definitely out work all but for all those strengths he isn’t the best tap ruckman in the comp
Whatever the answer is it needs fixing because we need every advantage we can get |

Well actually it's what he asked for and the club stupidly caved and 10 months before they had to make a decision as well.
Had they wait until the end of the season we either would have had a far better performance from Grundy in 2020 or he'd be lucky to get 3 years at 600k on 2020 form. |

His comments about not defining himself around being a premiership player or not are a little disheartening. If you're not striving for the ultimate success, you may as well pack up and go home.
Bucks got accused of being unforfilled by slobbo and he said the exact same thing, does it define him or ua as supporters? |

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at this thread, imagine the team without him? He could have gone elsewhere for more, and guys, he ain’t superman, those around him need to do their job too. He’s a sensitive soul too, I can’t imagine hub life would have been his thing. I also think he’s like Pendles, you wouldn’t know his leg was broken til it snapped off. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

Agree Grundy likes to get away from the game, when not playing , the hub was not good for him, I believe. Who would do his job? _________________ "Go Pies" |

Talk to Pie4shaw.
Scoffed at me suggesting that English would one day be much better than Grundy.
Any comments Pies4shaw??????? |

Not on tonight's performance. Grundy can't jump! His tap work is a joke. |
