This one aged well.

I would have sacked him in 2017, and I like the man, that was the honourable time. He and others turned it around though.
2018 was amazing and a tough pill to swallow, 2019 was good, 2020 we won the unwinnable dirty pies game in Perth, the collapsed.
It was simply time though. _________________ Get back on top. |

It’s been noted he has been at Buckley,s side in the box on match day and I think he is giving Nathan both advise and evaluation
He has I think started what he sees as needed to move upwards—and he will veiw Nathan’s coaching without emotional baggage that was evident when Ed was president
I’m not critical of Ed because he was all for Collingwood —just too Nathan involved |
Nathan said in today's presser that:
Quote: | "In the end, over the last couple of weeks in conversations with [football manager Graham Wright], it was clear that there was an appetite for change in the program.
"I could sense that as well. I think my messages on that and the way that I lead, it's established. We had a general sense that it was time for something different and it was time for something new and it was time for something fresh." |

Now that Buck's has been shown the door, we turn ourselves to who we want as our new coach.
I'm in the 'mad dog' Choco Williams camp, as I reckon we need a lunatic to run the asylum which is Collingwood. I reckon he would take no prisoners. Importantly, he has a great record 'straightening' out wayward youths, like Dusty Martin.
If we end up with Ross Lyon, I may just give the game away for a while.
[Not sure why only 3 options are showing in the poll - I listed Clarkson, Lyon, Mitchell, Williams, Scott and other??]

Why reduce the poll options to just three candidates? _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Of the three nominated in the Poll I chose Chocco Williams. I rate the guy. He is about as unpolished as you can get in terms of media savvy but I don;t care about such things. On-field performance is all I care about and Chocco would be the man to deliver that.
Of the unlisted options you mentioned Mitchell would be the horse I attach my cart to. I feel he has the same uncompromising attitude that is required. Couple that with his premiership experience and his apprenticeship experience already banked and he has 'potential' written all over him! _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world, those that understand binary and those that don't. |

Alastair Clarkson
Don Pyke
Adam Kingsley
Adem Yze
Sam Mitchell
Those are the five I would look at.
Mark Williams is a dark horse, but some stories about how his tenure ended at Richmond put me off. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 |

Choco is a magnificent bloke and an inspiration. However, other clubs have not taken him on in the last few years for a reason. He is super intense. Not everyone wants that.
I am not saying he should not be considered but it is not the easy choice some are making it out to be.. _________________ "You must be a parking ticket, cuz you got fine written all over you" Glen Quagmire |
