Yep, I get your drift Woods.
It's refreshing to read a more bi-partisan article. |

Also, noticed in a photo that Pendles was bandaged around the ribs, so is obviously carrying some sort of injury. What a truly stirring effort from him yesterday and was very pleased to see him get yet another trophy for his cabinet. A true champion. |

Saw the same bandage in the rooms at half time ( on TV ) two or three weeks ago.
You don’t play three hundred games and hardly ever miss without being very physically tough and mentally resilient |

He's had plenty of people backing him up in the media over the last part of the journey. In fact it was probably a thread's worth angst about that on this site alone.
As to the game, well yeah. Melbourne were off a little. And we were switched on and made them pay. Any win over Melbourne is one to be enjoyed and knocking over their cart on QB adds an extra degree of smug satisfaction. Sure, in a season where we are largely uncompetitive, it is dessert without the steak, but if someone comes by to offer you affogato or some sticky date pudding, you take it gladly and enjoy.
One of Buckley's more notorious philosophies was that the players were professionals and as such, it was up to them to motivate themselves and that getting them geed up was not Nathan's job.
Well he finally did gee them up and look at what we saw. Even allowing that Melbourne was off a bit, we saw players willing to bust a gut. We saw them mark and roll off for the quick play on, where in the past they would dutifully go back their 10 metres and look for an option. Pity the gee up involved him stepping down, effectively saying that he couldn't go any further with them.
For Nathan's sake, he needs to reflect on that. Having listened to all the conferences, I have little doubt that the style we saw yesterday was the "brand" he's been talking about wanting us to play all these years. But everyone needs to be invested and it is his job to ensure that everyone is signed up. Demanding, cajoling or outright begging, the coach needs to coach. Otherwise, he may as well stay home on game day. It's not like he threw the magnets around much after the opening bell. |

Did he even know the words to the song??
Whichever way they want to spin it, it was deplorable that the president was not present for the press conference.
The boot studder stands in the background NOT the president.
Anyway, a great win by the Pies. Maybe too little too late but either way, it was a fitting end to Buckley’s current time at Collingwood.
He will be back in another capacity I feel. |
What is it with you two? The President was in the rooms after a match!!!!
Like just about every President from every club after a match
Eddie was in the rooms after every match for Buckley and Malthouse

Ball movement yesterday was both virtually non stop but decisions were made quickly (and with fewer mistakes) which flat footed opponents
In fact we moved the ball as good as top sides ( we played one didn’t we)
And added to that De Goey showed that he is the strongest man on man mid we have and we can have Crisp in there with him which tells how strong our back line is
That ball movement/transition they executed was embellished with 22 players who put fear of physical hards knocks to themselves as price you can pay for a win
Even a kid named Lynch raw as he was stuck to the job and beat the best
Harvey has a team capable of repeating that It’s how he goes about it I guess _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Also, neil, a whole bunch of folks seemed to be calling everyone into the ring - you could hear that happening before the song started. I have no view about Korda either way - but what was he going to do - tell them he didn't want to be in their winners' circle for Bucks' last hurrah? |

1. Eddie was in the rooms after a win BUT also fronted the difficult press conferences unlike Korda who is already displaying poor leadership qualities.
The president should 100% have been on that table with Buckley and Anderson. With the current situation at the club with a likely EGM, that was a monumental mistake on Korda’s behalf. If he is the leader of the club, then he failed to show it when it was required.
GW is probably the one who didn’t need to be there.
2. It wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t know the words of the club song. Do not forget, this is the president who introduced Licuria as a 2010 premiership player a month or so ago and then topped it off with his bumbling “great win against WA” comment.
So yes, i do question his ability as a president. If he can’t even get the basics right what confidence does he give to voting members? _________________ - Side By Side - |

Hardly touched him, if he hit him at that speed he wouldn't have got up as quick as he did, Oliver didn't even hold his head as he got up! _________________ Cheers big ears |
