Sad. It needed to happen. Good luck to him and to Collingwood. Now to get Longmuir of Fremantle _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Sorry to read this news but inevitable none the less, given the trajectory of the club since the cats smashed them out the finals last October.
In hindsight Nathan would have been better off moving to another club to develop his coaching craft. He could have then come to the chair at the pies with a proven track record behind him or decided that as many here believe, he really isn't cut out for the job.
The succession plan from Malthouse to Buckley was only ever going to work if their relationship was rock solid. Clearly it wasn't. When Malthouse reneged on the deal it destabilised the season culminating in the loss of the 2011 flag. His sniping and white anting to preserve his place in history in the years since put Bucks on the backfoot in his relationships with the players as he was attempting to establish himself. All the unnecessary background noise and distractions along the way (king kong, drugs, betting, frisbies, on and on ... ) only made his job harder. There will always be that doubt in my mind that if these issues weren't there would his record as coach be different?
As for the future choice of coach. Please be bold in courageous in finding someone. That would be the opposite of Ross Lyon. If he gets the gig I will have a hard job signing up as a member again next year. _________________ woodsmen rule |

One more thing, i met Bucks some yrs ago, at a book signing at Southland, and we chatted a bit, he made me feel very important, looked me right in the eye. He signed his book, and also wrote, "To my mate Steve, a loyal Magpie for 50 yrs and beyond". Thanks Bucks, great memory, of a great bloke. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Seems clear, Wright did his evaluation and got all the evidence he needed to make this decision. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

This makes me very emotional. There's a big part of me that wanted to see him get that elusive premiership, even if it couldn't be as a Collingwood player.
With Eddie gone, a likely EGM, Ned Guy gone, assistant coaches to likely be cleared out and now Bucks gone, that is just too much drastic change in too short a time. Hopefully we can maintain some stability but I have my doubts we can stabilise the ship fast enough.
Let's give it to Melbourne on QB. I want to see the players really have a crack. |

How so? Pretty reasonable question no matter who asked it: were you pushed or did you jump? _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Absolutely sucks his last game is in Sydney and not at the mCG where supporters can be there. Not that any Buckley haters would turn up anyway |
