Post subject: Buckley has stepped downReply with quote

(The Age) Nathan Buckley is poised to step down as coach of Collingwood, midway through his 10th season at the helm of the Magpies.

Buckley was expected to tell the football department and players of his decision on Wednesday morning, ending months of speculation about his position.

Sources said it was most likely Buckley would finish up after coaching the club against Melbourne on Queen’s Birthday but The Age has not confirmed whether that will be his last game.

More to come

The toll would be heavy, given the scrutiny not sure anyone could be enjoying the position as it stands. Also does this mean the club have someone else lined up perhaps?

It would make sense if we just give Sando or Harvey a caretaker role.

The question is whether Bucks wants to leave immediately, sounds like that may be the case.

Didn't think this was going to happen. Very happy it has.
Thanks Bucks for all your efforts but you have made the correct decision to walk.

Mark Stevens
@Stevo7AFL
Harvey set to coach Collingwood for rest of season beyond QB. Buckley 100 per cent leaving.

<Snip -let's focus on the topic, please. Thanks - Pies4Shaw for BBMods>
To me it will be yet another incredibly sad chapter in the life of CFC. I feel for Pendles who has gone from having a very slight chance of winning another flag over the next 2 - 3 years to a team building stage that will take some time to gel and be strong enough to win a flag. So a very shallow victory creates a much deeper problem for the club midway through the season 😥☹️
Happy to be quoted in the future but I don’t see flag success for at least 5 years.

Caro Wilson thinks we've signed Chris Scott.
That would be interesting.

Sad for Bucks. Had 2018 gone the other way, things would have been different.

Not happy about Harvey. Personally I would like Lyon in ASAP.

All the best for Bucks. He did his best.
