With Adams most likely to take over from Pendles as our next captain, I was wondering who our captain after that - in about 5 yrs - might be. After seeing his first 2 games, I'm convinced that at some stage Bianco will captain our club. He obviously bleeds black and white, but he plays with emotional maturity, with footy smarts and the silky skills to go with it, much like our current captain in Pendles.
So I'm calling it now. Bianco will be captain of Collingwood within 5 yrs. |

Late in the last quarter Callum Brown had the ball in the centre and Bianco streamed past and I was yelling “give him the ball, he’s a better kick than you”.
2 games in and I feel that he’s probably our second best field kick/ decision maker. Only thing is I can’t work out if he’s 188cm or 178cm, he’s got those long lopping strides like Pendlebury. Reminds me of Mitch Duncan though. |

Anyone share my observation of a right footed Paul Licuria? _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

That was my reaction after watching those two games also, Rude Boy. When we drafted Bianco in 2019, I noticed that although two young men who were drafted to Gold Coast with picks one and two and who were nearly unanimously considered the two outstanding players in the draft both came from the Oakliegh Chargers, neither of them captained the side. Our kid, who we had drafted with pick 45 was the skipper. I wondered about this. After his debut it became obvious. Young Bianco has the best temperament and footy brain of anyone we have drafted since Pendles. I am not sure that he has Pendlebury's skill level, but even if he turns out to be a leader in the Nick Maxwell mode, he is going to be a beauty. _________________ Born and raised in Black and White |

That’s true but without denigrating Biancos achievement as captain, the Chargers knew Rowell and Anderson had to prioritise APS commitments ( Carey Grammar ) so they weren’t considered for the position.
Having said that, Bianco was a fine captain in a wonderful team.
They won the flag in 2019
The chargers midfield was made up of Bianco, Rowell and Anderson mixed in with bottom agers Phillips ( #3 2020 ) and MacRae ( # 19 2020 )
McInnes couldn’t even get a look in and played high half forward.
Bianco sat comfortably amongst the best of the best in the best development program in Vic. |

Kid looks very good. I'm happy to just let him play for a few years before worrying about who will be captain. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Bianco, Poulter, McInness, the Daicos Bros, IQ and hopefully McCrae and Rantall come good and all of a sudden our midfield looks pretty handy in a few years time?

Hell with that, anoint him captain / coach tomorrow. He's got broad shoulders. He'll develop into the role. |

Please don't jinx the kid.
It reminds me of a delisted North player:

I don't think you can ever shoot too quick. Will Kelly was (on here) the next Wayne Carey after one game and one goal. |
