There's your key forward and key backman sorted out.
I guess the factors are:
*Trading with Carlton. Will not be made easy and they are known for wasting others time during trade week.
*Essendon and North in a position to offer more money.
*We dont really have the trade chips at this point. |
We still have salary cap troubles.
I doubt we're bringing in anyone major this trade period. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Jake Riccardi
A wretched run with injuries has forced the Giants to test the depth of their list and 36 players have lined up for at least one senior match. Riccardi has played six but despite the departure of Jeremy Cameron and a series of soft-tissue issues for prized recruit Jesse Hogan, the 195cm key forward has not been able to nail down a role. The 21-year-old burst onto the scene last year with eight goals in his first three games, but has only kicked two this season and has been tried in defence and even on a wing. Riccardi will be back in the VFL this week after being dropped for the Giants’ clash with North Melbourne. - Martin Pegan |

Presuming he only signed the obligatory two year contract since being drafted, you'd think we are a chance?
If he plays the homesick card, you'd think it's us, Whorkes, or Roos for him?
We may not have any late rounders to swap for him, but it's a good year to throw yourself into the ND if GWS can't get a deal done at trade time, with at least three of the four bottom teams likely to be Melbourne based, as the Blues might slip down too in the latter half of this season...
Keep him on the radar for sure; more Hine ineptitude we need to fix here. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

*Mods, please merge with other trade thread - it will be all we have to talk about by the end of August, other than the Clarko debate... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Our youngsters need protection in the middle and currently only Adams can provide that, therefore Wallis is a no brainer for me. Free & cheap.
As for a key forward, do we look at rejects or accumulate picks and money over the next 12-24 months and chase a gun? i.e. King |

Every year some very average player is suggested as a trade target.
How about working out the deficiencies on our list and go from there
Hint KPF
Now consider salary cap issues and what we have to trade with _________________ Carlscum 120 years being cheating scum |

I’m sick of talking about any trade. We have no money. Have no fear, we will dump another star Treloar style this trade period. _________________ The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after. |

^ it's ok.. even though we obviously lost out on last trade periods actual value on players... I think finally we had a reasonable measured drafting strategy (as P4S has pointed out in other threads), and we've done reasonably well considering the actual picks we got and used. A lot to work with for our next coach imo. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

Senegalese professional basketball player Tacko Fall has been released by the Boston Celtics.
At 226 cm, we should play him at CHF. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

You'd hope not; we will have Greenwood and now Mayne off the books for 2022.
While they won't be the "savings" we made on Treloar, Stevo and Phillips, it should warrant us not needing to swing the axe in October, even if Cox goes too.
Then we can look at Riccardi, Fiorini, Wallis, Caddy, Jenkins... basically any big body or ball winner we can scam for next to nothing, or a delisting.... _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |
