I’d be curious to hear everyone’s thoughts on what type of player we might look to select in the mid season draft?

I think the obvious choice would be a key forward or a back up ruckman. Maybe Wylie Buzza? Ned Moyle is a potential ruck option who has been playing with our VFL side but has yet to nominate for this draft.

Thoughts....

I would hope we would look at players that would help build our future.

I think I've seen there are a few bigger kids that did't get picked in the draft that are doing well.

I would say , best young KP player, then best midfield talent available.

I’d go with Wyllie Buzza just because of his name! But really though, this guy has something....I recall every time he played against us he looked dangerous and seemed on the verge of exploding into something special. Also has been in a very good power forward learning situation as understudy to Hawkins and Dixon. He’s relatively mobile and at almost 100 kg and 200 cm if he was to come good would be exactly the player we need at the right age - and would cost us next to nothing!!!! I’d also look at either giving Crocker another crack or going with Stackelberg from our VFL team.

I want a high possession midfielder with elite kicking skills and then another high possession midfielder with elite kicking skills. Both around mid twenties of age and not under 185cm.

Thankyou Cool

^ Perhaps Bontempelli and Crisp will nominate.

Some commentary https://www.afl.com.au/news/612661/crocker-buzza-lang-stacks-of-former-players-in-mid-season-draft-mix

For me, no one under 194cm unless they're lightening quick and can kick 60m on both feet at 100% accuracy.

Actually Buzza didn’t fail as much as he couldn’t push either of Hawkins or Dixon aside who were obviously ahead of him...both Geelong and Port also recruited heavily and needed list space. Crocker neither here nor there on him there’s better out there but is currently tearing it up for Carlscum in the VFL and would be an exponential upgrade on JT. You don’t really put up much rationale for any of your comments to support your miopic views do you?

Wanted: a player who -

Can kick and spot up a teammate
Can handball to the end we are kicking to, not backwards
Can take a mark
Can run both ways
Can tackle

We get the best young players we can, with an eye on the future... forget filling gaps for this year.

Nick's should revoke your rights to post for the Ben Crocker option alone let alone Buzza!
